Congratulations to Recent
Triple Crowners
The PCB congratulates the following
recent triple crowners who have earned
all three designations—CPP, PCI, and PSP:
The Professional Certification Board (PCB) is
pleased to announce the launch of the new
ASIS International CBT Website –
www.prometric.com/asis! The site was
designed by Prometric (the testing service
used by ASIS) and allows approved
exam candidates to register online to test
during the months of July, September and
November in 2009 for most international
locations.
The easy-to-navigate Website offers
international candidates approved to
test, 24-hour access and the
ability to:
• Locate a test center
• Schedule or reschedule a test at a convenient date and time (during the months of July, September, and November in 2009)
• Request special accommodations
• Confirm or cancel test dates and more…

Important Guidelines
An application for the Certified Protection
Professional (CPP), Professional Certified
Investigator (PCI), or Physical Security
Professional (PSP) exam must be
submitted and approved by ASIS before a
candidate is eligible to contact Prometric
to schedule a test date. Also keep in mind
that due to geographic locations and time
differences, each test center has its own
operational procedures and it is important
that candidates adhere to their guidelines.

Current Paper & Pencil Exam Cost in Effect until July 1, 2009
To assist with the transition process, Prometric is allowing candidates who
submit an application on or before July 1, 2009, to pay the current fee of $200
for members and $350 for nonmembers (and $100 for retesting). After July 1,
the CBT fee will be the same for all locations worldwide – $300 for members
and $450 for non-members (and $200 to retest).
Procedures for Non-CBT International Test Sites
The current paper and pencil exam procedures and costs will remain in effect
for the 7 locations where CBT is temporarily unavailable – Ecuador, Jamaica,
New Zealand, Panama, Qatar, Sweden, and Trinidad/Tobago.
Chapter Exam Sponsorship for Non-CBT International Sites
A chapter in a location that does not offer computer based testing can have
access to paper and pencil test administration. These locations will use the
same test windows as CBT sites (July, September and November) and exams
will be held on the first Saturday of each of these months. (*The July test
window period is exempt from these deadlines. Please see chart below):

Time is Running Out to
Submit Your PCB Awards
Nominations
There is still time to submit a Regional
Award for volunteers who have made
a difference at the chapter/regional
level. The deadline for submissions is
July 1, 2009.
There are many members who are
committing a great deal of time and
attention to promoting certification
and assisting their colleagues in
achieving their chosen designations.
We need to show appreciation to
these individuals and thank them for
their efforts – the annual PCB awards
are a very good way to do this.
All nominations must be signed by the
respective Regional Vice President
(RVP) and Chapter Chair. Nomination
forms and award criteria are available
online at: http://www.asisonline.org/
certification/2009pcb-awards.xml.
Please remember these important
exclusions when submitting your
nominations (they can help in deciding
whether or not a nomination is
suitable):
• An RVP or member of the ASIS
Board of Directors is not an eligible
award recipient, unless the PCB
makes the recognition directly.
• Institutions or individuals who have
monetary or an otherwise vested
interest in ASIS certification programs
cannot be nominated for an award.
• An individual must hold an ASIS
designation (CPP®, PSP®, PCI®) and
cannot be nominated more than three
times.
Thank you for your support and help
in identifying security professionals
who have made a significant
contribution to the overall certification
program.
Spanish Version of
Certification Handbook is
Now Available Online
The newly-released Certification
Applicant Handbook is now available
in Spanish for download on the
ASIS Web site. This version of the
Handbook contains an introduction to
the benefits of ASIS board certification
and a detailed overview of each of the
three professional designations. The
paper application, which is included in
the English version of the Handbook,
has been omitted from the Spanish
version. A Spanish application is
available online.
If you would like to request printed
copies of the Spanish handbook,
limited copies can be made. Please

Certification News
Thank you to IDG Meeting Volunteers!
Item Development Groups (IDG) spent two days in Orlando, FL (March 20 –21) participating in the Item Writing process –
the method of creating, editing, and updating exam questions. Teams consisted of CPP and PCI certification volunteers
and the respective PCB Designation Committees who worked together under the guidance of, ASIS test administrators,
Professional Exam Services (PES). Prior to attending the IDG meeting, volunteers had the opportunity to test new
Remote Item Writing software developed by PES. The software offered the time-saving benefit of allowing online
submission and review of items before the actual IDG meeting. The PCB was pleased to have excellent representation from subject matter experts and extends special thanks to
all the following volunteers who undertook the tremendous task of writing and evaluating draft questions for the two
examinations.
