Training at the JATC takes on a dynamic approach,
with a healthy balance of theory/lecture, hands-on
installation training and cable handling techniques.
Participants will each install a splice or termination.
A review at the end of the class ensures that all the
important topics have been covered and understood.

The National Cable Splicing Board Inc.(NCSCB)
issues credentials for cable splicing and installation. This comprehensive certification program
formally recognizes practitioners who successfully
demonstrate the required knowledge, skills and
abilities. The training offered by Prysmian will help
prepare the splicer for the NCSCB Inc. test. Please

The certificate signifies the student has been instructed in and completed cable preparation
and has correctly installed specific splice and or termination kits.
- The certificate does not certify the competency of the splicer. Please refer to the NCSCB Inc.

Who Should Take This Training?
Additional Information
- IBEW Journeymen Electrical Workers with two (2) years of experience working with Medium Voltage Power Cable.
- Training typically requires four (4) hours for a single conductor splice & two (2) hours for a termination.
- Approximately 75% of the course is hands-on.
- Training is not intended to teach fundamentals of working with or preparing Medium Voltage cables.
- Training should be conducted in an area of the JATC where workbenches are available.
- Maximum of twelve (12) trainees per instructor.
