SUB-STATION SWITCH
The Sub-station Switches manufactured by Middle South Union Electric Co. Ltd., fully comply the
respective International Standards of ANSI and IEC. The switches have been tested by internationally recognized Laboratory and successfully passed all relevant tests. Quality materials and
latest production technology have made these switches more reliable and durable. Some salient
features of the switches are mentioned below;
1. Silver-plated hard drawn solid Copper Blade ensures greater rigidity & conductivity.
2. Silver-plated Hard Drawn Copper Contacts ensure uniform conductivity with self wiping characteristics.
3. Tin-Plated Bronze Parallel Groove Terminal Pads ensure firm contact of conductors & switch
terminals.
4. Hot Dipped Galvanized Structural Steel Channel ensures strong switch support.
5. The switches have very low operating torque and are virtually maintenance free.

SMD-20 Cat-No.192504-L station styles.
MSU Series Power Fuses are especially suited for protecting transformers, capacitor banks,
and cables in outdoor distribution substations through 34.5 kV. They incorporate precisionengineered non damageable silver or nickel-chrome fusible elements with time-current characteristics that are precise and permanently accurate — assuring not only dependable performance, but also continued reliability of system coordination plans.
With MSU Series Power Fuses, source-side devices may be set for faster operation than practical with other power fuses or circuit breakers, thereby providing better system protection without compromising coordination.
These fuse units are offered in a variety of ampere
ratings, in four different speeds Standard, Slow and
Very Slow. They provide interrupting ratings of up to
25,000 amperes symmetrical at 50 Hz.
This broad selection of ampere ratings and speeds
permits close fusing to achieve maximum protection
and optimum coordination. SZ Series Power Fuses
are manufactured in accordance with a quality
system certified to ISO9001:2008.

LIGHTENING ARRESTER
MSU surge arresters protects substation and polemounted equipment from voltage impulses
or surges resulting from lightning strokes, system faults, circuit switching, load rejection or
other events.
MSU design Station Intermediate and Distribution classes arrester to be used on 33 KV and
11 KV systems respectively, and provided with Gapless Valve Elements.

CONSTRUCTIONS:
a. Gap less Arresters with elements of zinc oxide to perform both the surge discharge and power
frequency reseal functions.
b. 9 KV Distribution type arrester provided with an ISOLATOR to ensure positive isolation and visual
i dentification if arrester becomes damaged internally.
LIGHTENING ARRESTER
INSULATORS
Arresters shall be protected in a hermetically sealed wet process porcelain or polymer jacket,
with a high Creepage distance and a high dielectric strength.
CONNECTORS
a. Both line lead and isolator terminals of distribution class arresters shall accommodate # 6
solid through 1/0 AWG stranded copper or aluminum conductors.
b. The high voltage terminal of Sub-Station class arrester accommodate 1/0 through 4/0 AWG
MHD bare Copper or Aluminum conductors. The ground terminal accommodate 1/0 AWG
MHD bare Copper or Aluminum conductor. The high side voltage terminal to be provided on the
top of the arrester and both the line and ground terminal shall be a two-hole or four-hole standard pad NEMA connector.
MOUNTINGS
Supplied with a cross arm mounting bracket. Intermediate & Sub-station class arresters shall
be equipped with (3) 14-22 mm dia slots (120 degree apart), 222-254 mm dia Bolt Circle
Equipment/ structure mounting arrangement. All exposed steel or iron parts of the arrester
including all mounting bolts, Lock washers shall be hotdip galvanized.

Distribution fuse cutouts designed and manufactured in accordance with ANSI C37.42. Distribution Fuse cutouts Model: GBZN - 15KV is open, expulsion, drop-out type & mounted by means
of steel brackets on wood poles and cross arms. The cutouts are intended for use with buttontype fuse links meeting the interchangeability requirements of ANSI C37.42.

ACCESSORIES
I). Fuse Support Assembly
a. Fuse Support Insulator - wet process porcelain.
b. Contacts - Silver Plated
c. Connectors - tin-plated bronze parallel groove type, for #6 to 4/0 AWG Copper or
Aluminum Conductors.
d. Load-buster tool attachment hooks.
e. Mounting Supports - provided to mount the cut-out so that the centerline of the fuse
support insulator is at an angle of 15° to 20° from the vertical.
II). Fuse Holder Assembly
a. Fuse Tube - bone fiber lining with exterior painted gray, non-expendable cap.
b. Contacts - Silver Plated
c. Fuse Link Position - the fuse tube is designed sothat the fuse link is centered in the
tube, with provision for mechanical ejection of the fuse link leader on low current faults.
d. Opening and Lifting Eyes.
e. Thumb Screw - for securing the fuse link to fuse holder assembly.
III). Mounting Bracket
Each distribution fuse cutout shall be provided with hot dip galvanized mounting bolt, lock
washer, A Type mounting bracket adjustable to accommodate standard 2.4384 meter (8 foot)
and 3.048 (10 foot) wood cross arms.
PACKAGING
Each distribution fuse cutout & its mounting bracket is packaged in a paper box clearly labeled
with below marking:
