Position switches
Application
Position switches are used wherever moving parts
on machinery and plants need to be positioned,
controlled and monitored.
The design details in relation to body dimensions,
materials, electrical loading capacity, rated values and
quality characteristics are to a great extent determined
by the variety of application, from precision mechanics
to heavy engineering.
Many of the position switches fulfill the requirements
of the IEC 60947-5-1 product standard and can
therefore also be used as position switches with
safety function. These products are identified in
the catalogue by the symbol T for positive break
to IEC 60947-5-1-3 A

Design and
mode of
operation
At the same time, all position switches with safety
function (see chapter 3) can also be used for the
duties described here. The position switches are
available with snap action or slow action.
A wide variety of actuator heads are available. The
majority of units are also obtainable with metal rollers.
The position switches are shown in the sequence of
body sizes, starting with the smallest design.
