FlatSIGN
Innovative LED Signal Tower in half-round design
The new LED Signal Tower FlatSIGN stands out from the competition with its range of innovative
functions and unique advantages: in particular its aesthetically pleasing, half-round design
which facilitates a 160 degree angle of radiation for the light signal. This guarantees optimal
signal visibility, even from the side.
If no signal is active, the LED Tower blends into the background with its flat housing – without
distracting from the design of the machine or its surroundings. The tower fits perfectly into its
surroundings and is available with either a transparent housing or in an attractive metallic finish.
Wide range of applications
The FlatSIGN can be deployed in a wide range of application fields:
from logistics, warehousing and materials handling to machine and
plant engineering. Thanks to its high quality workmanship and appearance it is also suitable for building services applications. The high
protection rating IP 65 ensures it can be used both inside and outside.

With its half-round form, the new FlatSIGN is predestined for mounting on flat surfaces such as walls
or machines. Thanks to the comprehensive fixing kit, available as an accessory, a further range
of versatile mounting options are possible.
Flexible and versatile mounting
The fixing kit consists of an adapter, two tube clamps as well as small parts
and provides a wide range of mounting options:
• If the Signal Tower is to be connected via surface wiring, then it can be simply attached using
the adapter.
• The adapter also enables the beacon to be quickly and simply mounted onto a flush-mounted socket.
• In addition, the adapter enables simple mounting onto aluminium profiles.
• For Tube Mounting (Ø 24 - 25 mm) the adapter and the two tube clamps are employed.

EVS – Attention-grabbing light effect on neurobiological basis
WERMA has developed a stochastic, random flickering light on a neurobiological basis:
EVS, Enhanced Visibility System. This generates an optimal attention level never reached
by previous signal devices.
For the EVS system WERMA employs light emitting diodes. A microprocessor generates
random light signals. This gives the light a very “agitated” character which proves highly
effective in drawing the attention of those in its vicinity – even when seen out of the corner
of the eye. LEDs are capable of generating the required high flickering frequency with ease,
frequencies which Xenon flashes for example are incapable of generating.

Improvements to existing products
Award-winning design – WERMA Beacon wins iF product design award
WERMA Signaltechnik has picked up a prestigious iF Product Design award for the design
and production of their ‘traffic light series’. The jury chose WERMA’s product over 2,808 entrants
from 39 different countries in the competition.
The winning product: LED Traffic Light / LED Beacon
The award winning product reinvents the traffic light form.
Flowing lines extend from the wall and are echoed in round
light elements. The customer can turn the light in the desired
direction.
Innovative design for new fields of application
The new LED Beacons can be deployed for a range of
applications within industry, automation and building services.
Thanks to the modern style and the attractive, innovative
plastic housing, the signal beacons can also be deployed
in fields where appearance plays an important role. They are
predestined for applications where the classical traffic light
form is unsuitable, for example in the fields of access control,
warehousing technology or in the leisure sector.

Multi-Tone Sounder 144/Combination 444: Now even louder
The Multi-Tone Sounder 144 and the Multi-Tone Sounder/LED Double Flash
Combination 444 are ideal complements to WERMA’s existing product range,
impressing with their high sound output and simple mounting. During the
development of these signal devices special emphasis was placed on an
elegant but nonetheless functional design suitable for an industrial setting.
32 tones for a diverse range of applications
In operation the new signal devices generate a sound output of 114 dB.
A total of 32 different tones are available for a diverse range of applications.
The tones can be quickly and simply set via DIP-switches, furthermore,
3 tones can be triggered externally via separate terminals.

LED Double Flash as addition
With many applications it is necessary to amplify the audible signal with the addition
of an optical signal. The new optical-audible combination 444 provides an optimal
solution: The loud Multi-Tone Sounder 144 in combination with a light intensive and
long-life LED double flash.
This optical-audible combination excels with a life duration of up to 50,000 hours
and a very low current consumption. The optical and audible signals can be triggered
separately.
