Introduction This document outlines how to stream a YouTube video from your DisplayStudio Digital Sign System. This feature is only available to media players that are connected to the internet. This document should be considered a general guideline and may not work for all YouTube videos or video‐sharing websites. Note: Permission to rebroadcast online content is ultimately your responsibility. While this document gives instructions on how to stream YouTube videos, each YouTube channel may have different rebroadcasting criteria. Steps to Stream a YouTube Video 1. Find the video you want to stream on YouTube. a. Video files with audio are not yet supported in DisplayStudio. We recommend only using files without audio. 2. Copy the Video ID from the URL. a. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f‐hvVUGlA6U b. This video’s ID is: f‐hvVUGlA6U 3. Create a new ‘web content’ in DisplayStudio. Select ‘Playlists’, click ‘Web Content’, and then click ‘Add’. 2

a. Input the following information. i. Stream Type: Website ii. Title of web site: Name the site iii. URL of the website: 1. Paste the following link into the URL field but replace the video ID with the video you want to play. See highlighted areas below. 2. 4. Create a playlist and drop the newly created web content into the playlist. a. Select ‘Create’ to make a new playlist. b. Name your playlist and click ‘Add’. 4

c. Drag and drop your new web content into your playlist. Make your scheduling selections and click ‘Send’. d. Your YouTube video playlist will now play on your monitor. Click ‘OK' i. If your playlist is not playing, check the URL you pasted into your web content URL field. ii. You can also paste the URL in a web browser on your computer. If you do not see the video then the URL was not copied correctly. Note: The length of the connection with the server varies with YouTube video. The playlist may play for several minutes or several hours before losing its connection. Further testing may be required to see how long you can successfully play a YouTube video playlist. 5
