Dear Dr. Varner
Test Beam Time Approval for ESTB
Your request to test Belle II iTOP modules at ESTB has been approved. We have given your test beam request
the designation T-518.
Your assigned beam time is July 31st through August 4th 2014, with setup time from July 28th through the 30th.
There is more beam time available from July 3rd through 14th. If you are interested in the early July block of
run time, please let me know as soon as possible. Your experimental setup can stay in place while another
experiment is running in the second half of July. If necessary you could continue your measurements in
October, after SLAC’s summer shut down.
Any questions you have about the scheduling should be directed to Carsten Hast (hast@slac.stanford.edu).
Please contact Carsten to make arrangements for the delivery of any equipment.
To help us plan for your visit, please complete the following request as soon as possible:
1- Pass on the names and contact details for your collaborators that will be participating in your
experiment at SLAC. This should include any SLAC employees. Please give us the dates they will be
at SLAC.
The above information should be sent by email to Christine Clarke (cclarke@slac.stanford.edu). Please
ensure that we are updated if there are any changes as we cannot process users without them being on the
list.
For Individual Participants
Please instruct each participant that will be working on the test beam at SLAC to follow the following steps to
join ESTB: https://portal.slac.stanford.edu/sites/ard_public/estb/Pages/UserRegistration.aspx
When completing the SLUO registration form, they should select the test beam experiment they will be
working on: T-518. Please put Christine Clarke as the SLAC contact.
They will be asked to state the dates they will be at SLAC.
If a participant is already a member of SLUO but registered with old details, they should re-register.

SLAC is operated by Stanford University for the U.S. Department of Energy
If they are already registered for another SLAC experiment with up-to-date details, there is no need for them to
register again.
If there are any questions or difficulties, please contact Christine Clarke or the SLUO office
(sluodesk@slac.stanford.edu).
Once the individual participant is registered, they will receive a SLAC system ID which allows them to
complete web-based training and also apply for a computing account.
We will be in touch with each individual that will be working at SLAC during your test beam to reiterate this
information once we are provided with their names and contact details as per step one above.
If anyone requires an invitation letter to acquire a visa, please contact Christine Clarke. Note that we do not
sponsor visas.
Feedback
Users are strongly encouraged to contact us when exciting results are about to be published. We will work with
users and the SLAC Office of Communication to develop the story and to communicate user research findings
to a broader audience. We need your help to keep up-to-date publication listings for all peer-reviewed journal
papers, book chapters, conference proceedings and theses based on work conducted at ESTB - this allows us to
demonstrate the scientific achievements and productivity of users.
After completing your test beam experiment at ESTB, we will ask you to provide feedback. Comments on
your experience at ESTB are extremely important to us, and we need your feedback to meet our mission
requirements, including assessment and reporting. We will send a survey to you.
If you have any questions, run into any problems, or have suggestions to improve this process, please let me
know. We welcome your feedback, and we look forward to your visit to SLAC’s End Station (A) Test Beam.
Sincerely,
Christine Clarke
