PERT (Post-Secondary Educational Readiness Test)

Testing center at HCC

Deadline to take the test: March 3, 2015

Students who will enroll, or may consider enrolling for any Dual Enrollment classes for the 2015-16 school year must meet and maintain the criteria established by the Florida State statutes. Details can be found on page 10 of the Tampa Catholic Student

Planner/Handbook. To qualify, a student must:

1. Have and maintain an un-weighted cumulative GPA minimum of 3.0

2. Obtain a passing score on the PERT, SAT or ACT tests as follows:

*Math scores are required for students requesting a science or college algebra class only.

*DE Anatomy and Physiology - Math score of 114 is required. DE Algebra - Math score of 123; if using the SAT a score of 510 and

ACT a score of 21 is required.

Students wishing to qualify by taking the SAT or ACT, please refer to the school counseling section of the TC website for upcoming dates and registration links. Students wishing to qualify by taking the PERT, please see below:

Procedures for taking the PERT

PERT testing for DE classes is offered at the Dale Mabry Campus of HCC. Test Center Phone Number: 813- 253-7393

Test Center Testing Times/Days: Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. (last testing time begins at 5:30 pm) Please allow at least two hours for testing. It is suggested that you contact the test center prior to test to make sure computer system is working

**Go online to the HCC Website–from the HCC main page ( at least 48 hours before you are taking the test)

Click “Apply online”, scroll to bottom of page – “CLICK HERE TO APPLY”, scroll down to bottom of next page, “start your online application”, use an email address as your user ID, input all necessary information

2.

Report to the Student Service Building, Room 244, to pick up a test pass then proceed to the TESTING

CENTER (2 nd floor) both are located in the Student Services Bldg. at the Dale Mabry Campus

3.

Identify yourself as a Tampa Catholic student needing to take the PERT Test. No testing fee is required.

4.

Provide a Picture ID and your HCC ID# (you will receive this via email after you sign up)

5.

Ask for a copy of your exam results and bring to the TC Guidance Dept.

PERT Prep Guide: Please visit the site below for a study guide and sample questions. It is imperative that you spend time preparing for this test as you are only allowed to take it one time per academic year! If you choose to take this test during school hours, you must complete a pre-arranged absence form ((attached) before you go to HCC. http://www.hccfl.edu
