All applicants are required to attend a Program
Session, which is held at HCC Coleman:
1900 Pressler Street, Houston, TX 77030.
Wait to be contacted by the Department.
HPRS 1201 or EDUC 1300 or LEAD 1370
RECOMMENDED COURSES - Completion of
the following courses is suggested for success
in Required Courses
BIOL 1406 – General Biology
Medical Terminology
REQUIRED COURSES – Completion of the
following courses with a minimum grade of ‘C’
no later than Spring semester

Submit Application Packet
In person to HCC Coleman – Student Services
with the following:
ENGL 1301 – English Composition I
MATH 1314 – College Algebra
PSYC 2301 – Introduction to Psychology
OR SOCI 1301 – Introduction to Sociology
3 credits – Humanities/Fine Arts Elective
Passing drug screening
Physical examination
Official college transcript showing
completion of required courses (unofficial
from HCC is acceptable)
Immunization record showing:
Completion of Hepatitis B Immunization
series (may take up to 6 months), MMR,
Tdap, TB, Varicella, Meningitis (required for
students under the age of 22), and
Influenza (please note: a titer may be
required for some of these immunizations)
HESI Scores
Cleared Criminal Background
o Scores: 70% cumulative in Reading,
Vocabulary, Grammar, Math and A&P
o Register online at evolve.elsevier.com or
ACADEMIC COURSES – Completion of the
following course is not required at the time of
application, but is strongly recommended prior
to admission
A condition of admission is based on
completion and/or submission of the following:
Proof of personal health insurance

BIOL 2404 – Introduction to Anatomy &
Physiology
OR BIOL 2301/2101 (formerly BIOL 2401) –
Anatomy & Physiology I (LEC/LAB)
(Be patient; it can take several weeks for
admission applications to be processed).
Attend Program Survival Camp
Attend Student Services Orientation
through HCC Central testing center

o Dept. ID given at Program Session
o Applicants are allowed 2 attempts to
achieve passing scores on the HESI.
Students may retake the unsatisfactory
section(s) of the test, but must wait at
least 30 days before retesting
o Scores are valid for 2 years
