a Program Session, which is held at McGovern

HPRS 1201 – Introduction to Health
Professions
(Be patient; it can take several weeks for
admission applications to be processed).
o Completion with a minimum grade of ‘C’ is

enrollment or completion with a minimum grade

PHRA 1301 – Introduction to Pharmacy
Submit Application Packet
In person to HCC Coleman – Student Services
with the following:
Application Form –
Must be typed and printed
from hccs.edu/media/houston-communitycollege/coleman-college/pdfs/201507health_sciences_application
Official high school transcript or official
GED scores. Due to program accreditation,
an official high school transcript must be
submitted regardless of completion of
bachelor’s or master’s degree(s)
Official college transcript showing
completion of required courses (unofficial
from HCC is acceptable)
Minimum cumulative GPA 2.0
Note: A placement test is required if the applicant did
not attend high school or college in the USA. A
minimum grade of C must be earned for each of the
required academic courses while maintaining a
minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
If Accepted?
A condition of admission is based on completion
and/or submission of the following:
Background check through Certified
Background before being allowed to register
for any pharmacy technician course, except
for PHRA 1301.
Attend Program New Student Orientation
Attend Student Services Orientation
A condition of enrollment into any PHRA 2nd
semester course and/or clinical course is based
on completion and submission of their Certified
Background profile with the following:
Proof of personal health insurance
Passing drug screening
Physical examination
Immunization record showing:
Completion of Hepatitis B Immunization series
(may take up to 6 months), MMR, Tdap, TB,
Varicella, Meningitis (required for students 22
years or younger), and Influenza (please note:
a titer may be required for some of these
immunizations)
Active registration status as a Pharmacy
Technician Trainee with the Texas State
Board of Pharmacy.
