Furthermore, the E-518 also includes a wide range of digital functions such as macro programming, wave generator or data recorder E-500: Modular motion control system for more flexibility The modular E-500 system is configurable and supports piezo actuators, piezo- based tip/ tilt platforms, and positioning systems with up to three motion axes. The modularity also allows suitable control for customized systems. Amplifiers for piezo actuators with up to 135 V, ±250 V or 1000 V operating voltage: The electrical capacitance, operating voltage and power requirement of a positioner or scanner depend on the load and the dynamic requirements of the application. PI offers a wide spectrum of piezoelectrical actuators; the E-500 system provides the control. Switching amplifiers are available for high dynamic applications. High linearity, also without position feedback, can be achieved with charge- control amplifiers. Amplifier modules for one to three channels per module are offered depending to the performance class. Sensor modules: PI uses capacitive or strain sensors in its positioning systems according the accuracy requirements. The E-500 supports operation of up to three axes with single- to three- channel sensor modules. The flexibility of the E-500 system allows mixed operation with different single- channel amplifier or sensor modules. Control takes place either directly at the analog inputs of the amplifiers or via the interface module with digital interfaces for control via an external host. Extensive functionality Data recorder: Recording of operating data such as position or position errors. Wave generator: Saves and outputs periodical motion profiles. Powerful macro command language. Nonvolatile macro storage, e. g. for standalone functionality with autostart macro. Extensive software support, for example for LabVIEW, dynamic libraries for Windows and Linux Interfaces Commanding via TCP/ IP, USB and RS-232 interfaces.
