The IC-LTE-GPS and IC-LTE-G interface cards require LileeOS 2.9 or later.
Battery Installation
The DTS-2000 ships with a BR2032 lithium ion battery. You must install this battery in the chassis before installing
the chassis. The battery allows the unit to maintain the real-time clock through power disruptions.
2 | Minimum Software Required
DTS-2000 Hardware Installation Guide
If you do not install the battery, or the battery dies, any power disruption causes the real-time clock to be reset to the
factory default date.
Use the included battery. Do not use a different battery. Using the wrong type of battery can cause an explosion.
Contact Lilee Systems technical support for a battery replacement.
To install the battery:
1. Open the battery compartment door on the bottom of the chassis using a small Phillips screwdriver, as shown in
Figure 2.

Mounting Instructions
You can mount the DTS-2000 on a wall, in a standard 19" rack, or on a top hat DIN rail (with the optional DIN railmount bracket).
Do not install the DTS-2000 in a site where the ambient temperature exceeds the DTS-2000 rated temperature of
-40 to 158 °F (-40 to 70 °C).
Wall-Mount Instructions
To mount the DTS-2000 on any wall with the included wall-mount brackets:
4 | Mounting Instructions
DTS-2000 Hardware Installation Guide
1. Use one of the brackets as a template to mark the wall for the screw locations, as shown in Figure 5.
LIL_063
Figure 5 Marking the wall for the first two screws
2. Partially install two screws (not included) at the spots you marked. Leave enough room to slide the bracket
between the heads of the screws and the wall (¼" is enough). If you are installing into drywall, we recommend
using wall anchors.
Follow electrostatic precautions whenever installing the DTS-2000. To prevent malfunction or damage from
electrostatic discharge, ground the DTS-2000. Before touching components, or connecting or disconnecting
cables, touch a metal object to dissipate your body charge.
3. Attach the wall-mount brackets to the DTS-2000 using the included pan head Phillips screws, as shown in Figure
6. We included two spare screws.
Ensure that the power cord is disconnected whenever you service, install, or move the DTS-2000.

8. Mount the unit to the wall again by sliding the keyholes in the brackets over all four of the screws.
9. Completely tighten the screws.
You can now safely power up the unit, as described in “Connecting Power” on page 10. To uninstall the DTS-2000,
reverse these instructions.
Rack-Mount Instructions
To mount the DTS-2000 in any standard 19" rack using the included rack-mount brackets:
Follow electrostatic precautions whenever installing the DTS-2000. To prevent malfunction or damage from
electrostatic discharge, ground the DTS-2000. Before touching components, or connecting or disconnecting
cables, touch a metal object to dissipate body charge.
1. Attach the rack-mount brackets to the DTS-2000 using the included flat head Phillips screws, as shown in Figure

3. Leave at least 4" (10 cm) on either side of the unit so that air can circulate over the cooling vanes. The fanless
DTS-2000 uses the aluminum cooling vanes on the top of the unit to dissipate heat.
4. Also leave at least 4" (10 cm) in front of and behind the unit so you can access the various connectors and ports.

You can now safely power up the unit, as described in “Connecting Power” on page 10. To uninstall the DTS-2000,
reverse these instructions.
DIN Rail-Mount Instructions (Optional)
To mount the DTS-2000 on any standard top hat DIN rail using the optional DIN rail-mount bracket:
Follow electrostatic precautions whenever installing the DTS-2000. To prevent malfunction or damage from
electrostatic discharge, ground the DTS-2000. Before touching components, or connecting or disconnecting
cables, touch a metal object to dissipate body charge.
1. Attach the rack-mount brackets to the DTS-2000 using the included flat head Phillips screws, as shown in Figure
11. We included two spares.
Ensure that the power cord is disconnected whenever you service, install, or move the DTS-2000.

3. Push the mounting bracket’s top latch over the top of the DIN rail. You will hear and feel it snap into place.
You can now safely power up the unit, as described in “Connecting Power” on page 10. To uninstall the DTS-2000,
reverse these instructions.
Connecting Power
The DTS-2000 does not have a power switch. To power the unit off, disconnect the power cord.
Do not apply voltage levels that exceed the specified voltage range of 10–30 VDC. Doing so can cause fire and/or
an electrical shock.
To power the unit on:
1. Ground the DTS-2000 to earth by attaching a ground wire to the ground receptacle on the back of the unit using
the included nut and lock-washer, as shown in Figure 13.

2. Remove the terminal block from the back of the unit.
3. Connect DC power supply return cables to either pin 1 or 3 of the 3-pin terminal block.
Use 18 AWG power cables.
4. Connect the positive DC power cable to pin 2 of the terminal block.
5. Connect the terminal block to the power connector on the back of the unit, as shown in Figure 14.
LIL_069

6. Connect the power cables to the power source.
The unit goes through a boot-up sequence. After successful boot-up, the PWR, HEALTH, VOLT, and TEMP
LEDs are all solid green. If the LEDs are not solid green, see “LED Indicators” on page 12.
The unit is now ready to be configured.

Module Slots
The DTS-2000 has two module slots for type-2 interface cards. The DTS-2000 ships with interface cards already
installed, and you can install new or replacement cards. To replace or add an interface card:
1. Power down the DTS-2000.
2. Unscrew the two captive screws on the existing card or blank plate.
3. Remove the card or blank plate.
4. Slide the new card into the empty slot. The sides of the green PCB rest inside the guiderails in the slot, as shown
in Figure 16.

5. Push the card in gently until it seats. When seated correctly, the card faceplate is flush with the chassis faceplate.
You must keep the card straight and level while inserting it, as it fits very tightly in the slot and any angles cause
the PCB to catch on the sides of the slot. If the card is difficult to insert, simply straighten the card and try again.
6. Tighten the two captive screws on the card.
7. Power on the DTS-2000.
8. The PWR LED on the card turns green.
The module is installed and ready to be connected.

Maintenance
The DTS-2000 requires no regular maintenance. Do not open the chassis. Opening the chassis voids the warranty and
can cause electric shocks. There are no user-serviceable parts inside the chassis.
If considerable amounts of dust, water, or fluids enter the DTS-2000, immediately disconnect power and contact your
distributor or sales representative.

rules. These limits provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a
commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed
and used in accordance with the instruction manual, can cause harmful interference to radio communications.
The DTS-2000 is intended to be mounted on a wall or in a rack. Read the mounting instructions carefully before
installing. Follow the instructions closely and use the correct hardware to avoid damaging the equipment or
creating a hazard for people due to uneven mechanical loading.
Give consideration to the connection of the equipment to the supply circuit and the effect that overloading of the
circuits might have on overcurrent protection and supply wiring. Consult the equipment nameplate ratings when
addressing this concern.
