Leave the instructions for users/ customers for future reference! Our continually updated product documentation can be accessed at www.erco.com/download. General safety information Warning! Risk of electrocution! Before carrying out maintenance and installation on the luminaire, disconnect from the mains supply and ensure that all power is switched off. - Do not operate luminaires with damaged or missing protective covers. - Do not open luminaire head. If damaged, the entire luminaire must be ret urned to the factory. - When installing, always observe the national installation and accident prevention regulations. Intended use - The luminaire is suitable for outdoor use. - The luminaire is approved for standing installation only. Choosing the mounting location Luminaires with LED modules must be positioned so as to avoid operation in direct sunlight or near other sources of heat. High ambient temperatures reduce the life and efficiency of the control gear or LED module. Electrical installation To avoid any damage to the electronic control gear on a 3-circuit installation, the neutral conductor of electronic control gear must never be interrupted. Over-voltage protection To protect electronic components from overload, e.g. when switching inductive loads, separate excess voltage protection devices can be used (e.g. ERCO 83819), connected in parallel on the input side. Notes on corrosion protection Ensure that the powder coating is not damaged during installation or maintenance work. Any damage, which becomes wet, can result in corrosion occurring. In aggressive environments, the installation and maintenance of all parts will require the appropriate protective measures. Chemicals damage the corrosion protection. Installation The bollard luminaire may be mounted on a concrete base, the ground socket 33974 or the concrete anchor 33981. Mounting on concrete base 1. Remove the base plate from the lumi- naire and use it as a drilling template. 2. Place the base plate over the unterground cable. Only use suitable material for mounting, e.g. stud bolt M10. Caution! Always comply with the standards and regulations in place for the mounting location when selecting the mounting parts. 3. Use the supplied washer. (Fig. 3) Mounting on ground socket or concrete anchor 1. Remove the base plate from the luminaire and place over the cable. 2. Screw the base plate onto the ground socket or concrete anchor. Use the supplied washers and cylinder head screws (included with the ground socket). (Fig. 3) Note for concrete anchor: Follow the concrete anchor instructions (3000028581). Electrical connection Always allow for the diameter of the underground cable when making the electrical connection. ∅ 14-20mm 1. Open the grommet and insert the cable. (Fig. 4) Note: The second grommet can be used for through-wiring. 2. Make the electric connection. ∅ 5-14mm Warning! Risk of electric shock! The existing grommets are unsuit able for cables with a diameter < 14mm. When using these cables, protection mode IP65 is no longer guaranteed. Water may penetrate the terminal compartment. 1. Fit the supplied screw connections to the top of the terminal compartment. (Fig. 5) Note: A further M16 screw connection is required for through-wiring (not supplied). 2. Make the electric connection. Operating instructions for LED luminaires Replacement of LED modules If an LED module fails, the entire luminaire must be returned to the factory. For operational safety reasons, LED modules must be replaced at the factory. Flashing of the LED module It is normal for the LED module to flicker when switching on and off. Dimming The luminaire can be dimmed using a suitable dimmer (leading edge). Leading-edge dimmers Follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions. For some products, the luminaire or dimmer can only be switched on in the upper dimming range. Before installation and connection, check luminaire, control gear and dimmer combination for proper functioning of the dimmer, especially when using 3000042441 2 universal dimmers. The use of dimmers which are unsuitable for LED drivers can damage the luminaire, control gear and/or the dimmer. No responsibility is accepted for the use of dimmers that are unsuitable for the luminaire. Cleaning Before cleaning, disconnect from mains supply and allow luminaire to cool! - Regular cleaning is essential. The required intervals and methods depend on the mounting location, the mounting situation and the ambient conditions. Outside cleaning of the luminaire Clean with a damp, soft cloth. Take care not to damage the powder-coating. Cleaning the plastic Clean with a damp, soft cloth and a standard pH neutral, alcohol-free, nonabrasive cleaning agent. Disposal In accordance with EU Directive WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), luminaires must not be disposed of with other household waste. At the end of their life, luminaires must be taken to the appropriate local facility available for the disposal or recycling of electronic products. 3000042441 3
