We have the honour to invite you to take part in the 12th World Conference
on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion, Safety 2016, to be held in Tampere,
Finland on 18−21 September 2016.
As a Safety 2016 co-organiser, partner or exhibitor your organisation can
demonstrate its expertise and showcase its innovative approach and activities,
maintain visibility with delegates and create new contacts in the injury
prevention and safety promotion community.
This brochure contains information on how you and your organization can be
part of Safety 2016. Below you find listed a variety of partnership options, but we
are also happy to tailor the partnership to suit your individual needs.
The conference will bring together hundreds of researchers, practitioners and
advocates from around the world, and it will cover a range of topics within
the field of injury prevention and safety promotion. This year’s theme is From
Research to Implementation.
We are commited to develop a high-quality programme, which will promote
international collaboration and strengthen the fields of injury prevention and
safety promotion. The ultimate goal is to strengthen efforts to globally reduce
injuries and violence and foster a safety culture.
Safety 2016 is hosted by the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) and
co-sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Safety 2016 provides an opportunity to introduce your organization’s work and
gain visibility by reaching hundreds of injury prevention and safety promotion
researchers, practitioners and advocates. In addition, Safety 2016 enables you
to participate in the leading biennial international safety and injury prevention
event.
VENUE
The venue for the 12th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion is Tampere Hall.
Tampere Hall is the largest purpose-built congress centre in Scandinavia. Its has been designed to

EDUCATIONAL
PARTNERSHIPS
You can support us in building a high quality conference programme by
providing financial support to invite plenary and state of the art speakers. It is
also possible to promote the participation of delegates from low-income and
middle-income countries by funding scholarships. Below you can find more
detailed information about the different educational partnership opportunities.
1. PLENARY SPEAKER
6 000 €
By supporting the conference with 6 000 euros your organization will get:
Organization’s logo in the conference handbook
One full page colour advertisement in the conference handbook
(artwork supplied by the partner organization)
One (1) promotional product or brochure (supplied by the partner organization)in the conference
bag, (maximum size A4)

2. STATE OF THE ART SESSIONS
4 500 €
By supporting the conference with 4 500 euros your organization will get:

One half a size page colour advertisement in the conference handbook
(artwork supplied by the partner organization)
Organization’s logo along with a link to the organization website on the Safety 2016 website
Two (2) complimentary tickets to the conference including the conference dinner and Welcome

3. SCHOLARSHIPS
3 000 €
There will be a limited number of scholarships available for delegates from low-income and middleincome countries. The visibility of your organization will depend on the amount you are willing to
contribute. You may choose to cover either the full cost of participation or just part ot fhe expenses
(e.g. lodging, food or travel costs).
By supporting the conference with 3 000 euros your organization will get:
Organization’s logo in the conference handbook
Organization’s logo, a short description of your organization and a link to the organization’s website
on the Safety 2016 website
One (1) complimentary ticket to the conference including the conference dinner and Welcome
Reception hosted by The City of Tampere
SOCIAL EVENTS

There are multiple ways in which you can support us in creating an enjoyable
social programme for the Safety 2016. All these different options will be
introduced below.
4. CONFERENCE DINNER (THERE ARE SEVERAL PARTNERSHIP DEALS AVAILABLE)

entertainment and delicious cuisine.

5. GET-TOGETHER EVENT

The get-together serves as a welcome reception to the 12th World Conference on Injury Prevention
and Safety Promotion. Organized at Tampere Hall on Sunday 18th September the event provides the
delegates a great opportunity to socialize in a more relaxed atmosphere.
By supporting the get-together event with 8 000 euros your organization will get:
Organisation signage displayed at the welcome reception area during the event

OPPORTUNITIES
TO INCREASE VISIBILITY
We offer a range of options to increase your visibility among the delegates during
the Safety 2016. These options will be introduced below.
8. ADVERTISEMENT, FLYER OR BROCHURE INSERT IN THE CONFERENCE BAG 1 000 € + VAT
Every delegate will receive a conference bag containing the programme book and other related
information. You can gain visibility and inform delegates about your products, services or project results
by adding an advertisement, flyer or a brochure in the conference bag.
By investing 1 000 euros, your organization will get :
Advertisement, flyer, brochure or corporate gift in the delegates’ bags (partner organizations
are responsible for producing and delivering the material to the conference organizers on time.
Deadline will be agreed upon at a later stage). Maximum size of brochure is A4 and four pages.
9. ADVERTISEMENT IN THE HANDBOOK
1 000−2 000 € + VAT
You can promote your organisation or advertise your upcoming events in the conference programme
book which will be distributed to all delegates. It is possible to buy either a full page, half a page or
quarter of a page adverts.
10. EXHIBITION OPPORTUNITIES
An exhibition booth remains the most effective way to demostrate new products, disseminate
information and gain visibility. For exhibitors Safety 2016 provides an opportunity to network, interact
and share knowledge with different injury prevention and safety promotion experts from national and
international organisations. There will be several options available for the exhibitors – e.g. different sizes
of stands, floor space and tables.

OPPORTUNITIES
TO INCREASE VISIBILITY
APPLYING FOR AN EXHIBITION SPACE
The sites are first allocated to partners. The remaining sites are available for general allocation on a ‘first
in’ basis. The sites can be applied for by filling in an exhibition application form online. We recommend
completing and returning the application form early on in order to secure your choice of location. A
summary of all your exhibition space reservations (i.e. booth, table, floor space) will be attached to your
invoice.
ACCOMMODATION
Exhibitors will have the possibility to book accommodation at the conference hotels with discounted
rates. Further details can be found on the conference website.
CANCELLATION AND INSURANCE OF THE EXHIBITION SPACE
For cancellations received in writing by 15 July 2016, a 100 % refund will be provided. For cancellations
made between16 July to 18 August 2016, a cancellation fee of 50 % of the total invoiced amount will be
charged. There will be no refund of the invoiced amount for cancellations made after 18 August 2016.
It is the responsibility of each exhibitor to ensure that the goods on display are adequately insured for
theft and damage.

FINANCIAL REGULATIONS
Partnership opportunities 1 to 7 listed in this prospectus are exempt from Finnish Value Added Tax
(VAT). Partnership opportunities 8 to 9 and exhibition charges listed in this prospectus are exclusive of
Finnish VAT, and VAT will be added to invoice.
