Installation

1 Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
2 Locate and install the Hi-Lo Valve on the truck cowl or
under the floorboard using a 5/16 in. (8 mm) capscrew.
If mounting on the cowl, watch for clearance when the
mast is tilted back. The Valve has adjustment screws that
need easy access for final adjustment.
Disconnect cable
from negative
battery terminal
3 Install a return to tank line to the Hi-Lo Valve T port to
connect with the truck tank line. Cascade Low Pressure
Return Line Adapter Kits are listed below.

NOTE: If the Hi-Lo Valve is being installed with an AntiSpike Valve, a dual line adapter kit with be needed. The
circuit schematic for installing with the Anti-Spike Valve is
shown on the next page.

Install hoses
to CL and OP
ports

4 Install No. 8 tee fittings to the CL and OP ports on the Hi-Lo
Valve.
5 Install two No. 8 hoses from the truck clamp auxiliary valve
CLAMP and OPEN ports to the tee fittings on the Hi-Lo
Valve CL and OP ports.

6 Install a No. 8 hose from the Hi-Lo Valve CL port tee fitting
to the supply circuit for the attachment CLAMP port.
7 Install a No. 8 hose from the Hi-Lo Valve OP port tee fitting

To set the relief cartridges, use a pressure gauge or clamp
force indicator. Refer to your clamp force indicator guide.
NOTE: If using a pressure gauge for cartridge adjusting, install
a pressure gauge in the attachment valve test port.
IMPORTANT: Relief cartridges are preset to 1000 psi. Relief
pressure for each cartridges must be adjusted for your
application.
ClampLow Relief
1 Set the LOW clamp relief pressure.
Loosen jam nut on the
relief cartridge. Adjust the relief cartridge (3/16 in. Allen
Wrench) inward (CW) to raise pressure or outward (CCW)
to lower the pressure.
2 Clamp a light load and check the pressure.

2 Open the arms with the back of one arm against a fixed
object. Adjust the Backhand relief cartridge outward (CW)
until the desired force is reached. Tighten the jam nut.
