An eight-digit key classifies the test results relat‑ ing, for example, to resilience, durability, fire resistance and corrosion resistance. The entire furniture set including the fixing elements and the spindle is evaluated. Assessment criteria such as torque, tensile strength, free play and free angular play travel are measured before and after a long time functionality test and must attain specified values depending on the relevant structured. The category of use is broken down into four grades, ranging from 1 (lowest) to 4 (highest). As you would expect from DORMA, our OGRO door furniture sets fully meet class 4 requirements – the class with the highest performance demands. This then indicates which harmonised European standard applies. EN 1125 for public buildings or EN 179 for buildings with no general public usage. Hence: In the case of hospitals or airports, for example, EN 1125 applies. This specifies the installation of panic exit devices operated by a horizontal bar.
