August(Sunday). The Venue will remain the same - Apeejay School, Nerul. Also same
timing.

Rules and Guidelines for participating schools and students
For any events:
If there are less than 15 participants in any of the events, then only first prize
will be awarded.
If number of participants is between 15 & 25, then two prizes will be awarded.
If the number of participants is more than 25, then three prizes will be
awarded.
•
All the events are open to all Schools.
•
Most of the events have groups and in case group is not mentioned, then
students up to 12th standard can participate in relevant events.
•
Participants should reach the venue 30 minutes before the start of the event.
•
Participation is free of cost.
•
For Drawing and Written events, the participants have to get their own writing
and drawing material. Paper will be provided by the organisers.
•
For Drawing and Written events the Topic or Theme will be given on the spot
•
The decision of the judges will be final.
•
There will be negative marks for exceeding time limit.
•
Participation certificates will be given to all participants.
•
Participants should not announce their names or the name of their school
while addressing the audience.
•
Participants should attend the programs in civil dress. Uniform is not necessary.
•
All the Drawings, Paintings, Photography, AD-Campaign, Collages, Poster,
Poems, Short Stories and Essays that the participants submit for the
competitions will be sole property of the Rotary Club of New Bombay Seaside
and the Club is free to use the material as it deems fit.
•
Participation in the competition is understood to imply an agreement with the
mentioned rule.
•
Judges judging some events will announce the results immediately after the
events.
•
Results of other events will be conveyed to the respective schools after the

•
For Art events results will be judged at the end of the day and the judges shall
announce the results.

Out of the above events only the Writing events and Calligraphy are Open events which
have no restrictions on the number of participation coming from a particular school. For
all the other events there is a restriction on the number of students participating.
Rules for the various events are given below:

Essay / Short Story / Poem Writing:

For Poem writing, the opening line will be given on the spot. The poem has to
be an ORIGINAL one. Participant has to provide a Title for the poem.
For Short Story writing, the Opening lines will be given on the spot and the
participant has to complete the story and has to provide a Title.

Those who wish to write in more than one language will be given additional
20 minutes.
Calligraphy:
(Maximum time 1 hour and can be in any language English / Hindi / Marathi)
Groups: Juniors & Seniors
Juniors: Up to 6thStandard
Seniors: From7th Standard to 12thStandard.
Participation Limit: (Open Event)
No restrictions on the number of students participating from a school
Rules:
Students need to get their own boards, pens, pencils, etc.
They can participate in any one of the languages mentioned above (English,
Marathi and Hindi)
Font type and Size should not be mixed.
. Quiz:
Groups: Only for students 7th to10th Standard
Participation Limit:
Only one team per school, maximum three students per team.
Rules:
The questions will be in English.
The quiz will have different sections and will include various subjects like

Mathematical Ability, Analytical Ability, Puzzles, Science, General Knowledge,
Sports, Arts, current events etc.
Visual Round.

Teams should bring all the necessary models and other required materials.
Organisers will provide only a standard table and plug point.
Advance intimation should be provided to the Rotary Club of New Bombay
Seaside if any of the school requires more space.

(Any dance form will be allowed, maximum time 3 minutes)
Groups: Only One Group. For 6th Standard to 12th Standard
Participation Limit: (Restricted)
Maximum 2 students per school.
Rules:
Students need to get their own CD’s or Pen Drive.
Students should stick to the time limit
Negative marks for exceeding the time limit.
Proper costumes are necessary. (Otherwise the team will be disqualified )

Skit:
(Language English Hindi, Marathi only, maximum time 15 minutes)
Groups: Only one Group
Participation Limit: (Restricted)
One team per school, with a minimum of 5 and maximum 10 students per group.
Rules:
Teams can select their own topic for the SKIT. However it is the responsibility
of the participating school to ensure that the skit is within accepted norms.
Teams can use background sound effect.
No pre-recorded voice allowed.
Students have to deliver the dialogues on the stage.
A one minute’s synopsis of the Skit is to be given at the start of the skit.
Hand held mikes will be provided.

Theme for the campaign will be provided at the time of registration (2
hrs. before the event).
One Team per school. The minimum number of participants should be at
least Three (3) and maximum is Eight (8).

Participants must register through their schools
Exhibition will have one section ....digital image section
The theme for the contest will be
'Capturing the spirit of SPIRITS 2015'
Entrants are required to send a CD along with photograph at high resolution
300 dpi
Each Entry should carry author's name, class , school on the CD in BLOCK
LETTERS

A certificate that all photographs are work of original nature and taken by the
entrant himself/herself is to be enclosed by the entrant.
Maximum 2 photographs per event.
Photographs should not be edited. The prize will be awarded only to the
original digital images
The entries should be superscripted with the word:
"Entries for the SPIRITS 2015 Photo Contest"
THE LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF ENTRIES IS 13th September 2015
before 12.00 noon.
Entries received after the closing date and time will not be entertained.
Rotary Club of New Bombay Seaside will not be responsible for any damage
and loss of photo in transit.
Decision of the judges will be final.
