or low cost. Many designers are
looking to TI’s AHC/AHCT
(Advanced High-Speed CMOS
logic) to provide a reliable and
effortless migration path from HC.

AHC/AHCT Widebus
TM
Like TI’s AHC octals and gates,
AHC Widebus ICs offer
increased performance over
two eight-bit HCMOS devices.
With typical propagation delay
times of 5.4 ns and static power
consumption of 40µA (half that
of HCMOS), AHC Widebus
components will allow
designers to increase system
speeds while lowering the
system’s overall power
requirements. Additionally,
as with all of TI's AHC components, the Widebus devices
offer the same low noise
found in HCMOS.
Packaging Options
With multiple power and
ground pins distributed
throughout, the AHC Widebus
devices can lower noise by 20
percent over two equivalent
HCMOS octal devices, providing greater signal integrity
throughout the system.

Microgate Logic/PicoGate Logic
With their extremely small size,
TI’s single gate AHC/AHCT
logic devices give designers the
ability to greatly simplify design
routing and maximize ASIC
design development. These
devices, AHC Microgate Logic
in the 5-pin SOT-23 and
PicoGate Logic in the 5-pin
SOT-353, allow designers to
place a particular gate function
close to related circuitry, shortening and simplifying routes on
a board. This simple implementation represents a major
advancement over multiplegate devices, which require the
routing of multiple etches from
distinct partitions on a printed
circuit board through one logic
device. These single-gate logic
devices also allow designers to
alter the output of an ASIC
without redesign and re-manufacture, effectively extending
the life of the device and maximizing design investment.
