Greetings from the Netherlands!
We have just finished a successful year of training
students from 23 countries. On 7 June, seventeen
students received their degrees and certificates.
Christopher Haynes (USA). Chris will remain at
Tyndale as an instructor in Greek and ESL. He
also plans to continue working with the Prague
Christian Fellowship and Scripture Union in the
Czech Republic.
Angela Hsieh (Taiwan/Netherlands). Angela
works in marketing and sales in the medical
industry, and serves as a pianist on her church’s
worship team.
Tommi Karjalainen (Finland). Tommi’s future
plans include teaching in church settings,
discipling young adults and pursuing PhD studies.
John Lian Lung (Myanmar). John will be
returning to Myanmar to be involved in missions
and the training of new mission workers.
Pray for our Students.
We want to thank you for partnering with us in
prayer for our graduates as they leave us and
move into the next stage of their lives and
ministry.
Anna Bogatyrova (Ukraine). Anna will be
married to Hansley Parsley of Tyndale’s staff on
15 June. She hopes to be involved with children’s
ministry.
Herman Bouma (Netherlands). Herman works
with a non-profit organization in Amsterdam
organizing volunteer projects for people in need.
Jane Caffé (Netherlands). Jane works at the
municipality of Haarlem and serves on the Board
to Maranatha Ministries in Amsterdam.
Bogdan and Mihaela Costea (Romania). Bodgan
has been accepted into a PhD Program in New
Testament at St. Andrews, Scotland. Their long
term plans are to return to Romania and serve the
church there. Ela would like to work in Christian
counseling and Bogdan hopes to teach in a Bible
school.
Getachew Endale (Ethiopia). Getachew will
return to Addis Ababa and will be teaching within
the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.
Michael Gibbons (USA). Michael and his wife
Emilie have served as missionaries in the Congo,
Belgium and France. He currently serves in
Toulouse, France in Bible school teaching and
church planting.
Jonathan Mensah (Ghana). Jonathan plans to

worship ministries and then expand this work in
the city of Accra.

he will be assisting with the publication of The
African Study Bible.
Stef Schagen (Netherlands). In September, Stef
was appointed to serve as pastor of the Christen
Gemeente De Weg in the northern part of the
Netherlands. Stef will continue his pastoring role
along with writing and teaching at the Training
School Christformation.

served in several churches in support,
communications and evangelism. He hopes to
work in a business environment and do church
planting in Southern Europe.
Lucia Zanetti (Brazil). Lucia plans to return to
Brazil and work in her home church with young
adults, as well as pursuing ministry with Wycliffe
Bible Translators.
Please also pray for our incoming students who
will be joining us in late June. Several of these
students will be moving to the Netherlands (a new
culture) and will begin their studies with New
Testament Greek.
Please pray for our school.
In March we hosted an all-day conference entitled,
“Getting the Most out of Bible Reading:
Increasing My Devotional Life.” The conference
focused on ministering to the local church. We
had 41 enthusiastic and appreciative people in
attendance. Our next seminar will be in October
and will focus on prayer.
The seminary’s Program Advisory Committee,
Board and Faculty have been reviewing the
possibility of seeking governmental accreditation
of Tyndale’s Master of Divinity program. Please
pray as we review the requirements of the
accreditation process.
There is a growing number of international
churches in the Netherlands. We need to seek
God’s wisdom as to how we can best reach out
and serve these churches who wish to train up
pastors, Bible teachers, staff leaders and church
planters.

website: www.tyndale-europe.edu.)
Please pray for our alumni. We honored our
alumni at the recent graduation, including Jetteke
Noordzij. She graduated with the very first class
from Tyndale 25 years ago.
I would ask all First Team Members to pray
regarding the financial support of the school. We
have been blessed by a long-term partner of the
school who has committed to matching all
donations to Tyndale in 2013-14 with a matching
grant of $300,000/€230,000 for this year.
Yours in Christ,
Please pray for our faculty and staff. Gratefully,
we have a very committed faculty and staff.
Please pray as many of our missionary faculty will
be visiting their sending churches and supporters
this summer. We hope that these visits will
provide their partners with a growing vision of
Tyndale in serving the global church.
Our faculty continues to be sought after for visits
to different colleges and seminaries. Dr. Phil
Gottschalk traveled to teach at the Zaporozhye
Bible College in Ukraine. Dr. Drake Williams
spoke at the L’Abri Institute in the south of
Holland.
