A new route, a new airline,
Montpellier - Amsterdam
with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
Montpellier Mediterranée Airport is pleased to announce that KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, in
the Air France-KLM group, member of the Skyteam alliance, has chosen Montpellier as its
6th destination within France.
As from 18 May 2015, KLM will operate Montpellier-Amsterdam on a daily basis. This new
link with the Amsterdam hub will offer greater possibilities for flight connections
throughout the world.
The KLM flights, in code-share with Air France, will be on sale from January 6, 2015 and the return
ticket starts from 230€ TTC*. The service will be operated by a 80-seater Fokker and two classes are
available (Business and Economy).
The arrival of the new airline in Montpellier confirms the interest of the Air France-KLM group in
Montpellier Mediterrannée airport and the potential of its catchment area. The airline group will
now be present under 4 different brands:
- Air France, KLM, HOP! and Transavia.com
This announcement also demonstrates the interest for the Dutch market of the Montpellier and
Languedoc destinations. Netherlands are ranked #1 for incoming tourists to Langued-Roussillon.
The offer of flights to the world’s major hubs is thus enhanced with the arrival of KLM and access to
the Amsterdam hub. It is now even easier to reach any destination in the world via Amsterdam, with
tariff and flight combinations possible with Air France via Paris Roissy.
Amsterdam Airport, KLM’s historic hub, is the 4th largest in Europe in terms of passengers (+52M in
2013), and 6th in the world for international traffic.
From Amsterdam, KLM and its subsidiary KLM Cityhopper serve nearly 140 destinations in Europe,
Africa, North and South America, Middle East and Asia, with a fleet of over 160 aircraft.

The arrival of KLM, the link set up with the Amsterdam hub and the reinforcement of the service to
the Netherlands ** meet the development strategy for the Montpellier Mediterranée Airport
network, the main priority being to provide the people of Languedoc with convenient travel from the
regional capital to international destinations via the biggest hubs, but also to facilitate access to
Montpellier and its region for tourist and business clientele from abroad. It also meets the
expectations of the local authorities (Region of Languedoc-Roussillon, General Council of Herault,
Montpellier Agglomeration, City of Montpellier, C.C.I.T of Montpellier, and the Urban Community of
Pays de l’Or), partners of the airport within the APFTE (Association for the Promotion of Tourist and
Economic Flow) as well as companies in the catchment area of the airport.
