• Wireless Equipment remote monitoring: immediate alert in case the equipment is not working properly • User friendly: easy to install and intuitive to use • Flexible: can be installed in existing facilities • The RAS receiver may be connected to the Building Management System or to an optional automatic phone dialer 1/Introduction Time is money. Nowadays facilities are oriented to shorten, when possible, all the most time-consuming activities, such as monitoring equipment and its proper functioning and locating raised alarms. The Remote Alarm System (RAS) is a Tecniplast product that allows to control that the equipment is working properly and sends an immediate alert when it’s not so. Thanks to RAS, there is no need of repeated human inspections of several rooms. RAS - Remote Alarm System Introduction 1 Working Principles 2 User Friendly 3 2/Working Principles RAS is a wireless system designed for monitoring (especially, but not only) the status of Air Handling Units. It is able to transmit through an antenna (transmitter TX) an RF signal for every kind of alarm that occurs on the AHU, to a specific receiver (RX) that displays on the screen the alarm itself. The RX can be installed everywhere inside the facility, compatibly with the right level of power RF signal received (a field assessment before ordering the product is necessary). If located outside the clean area, the RX allows the facility manager to do not waste time for carefully checking all the AHUs one by one. 3/User Friendly The set-up of the system is very quick and clear. RX’s housing has a screen and an alpha-numeric keypad for the setting. With just a few clicks, TX and RX can be immediately connected and ready to work (see Instruction Manual). On the RX screen the name of the unit in trouble and the type of alarm raised will appear. The setting is intuitive and enables the operator to use the product immediately and without a specific training. 4/Flexibility One RX can manage up to 10 different TXs. If there is more than one RX, there is another component, called collector (CX) that can manage them, up to 10 different ones. In this way, the RAS system can manage up to 100 different equipments inside the same facility. Moreover, RX can be also provided as equipped with a specific speech dialer (RXC) for making phone call through a dedicated phone line (RJ11 - 4 poles is required). The collector CX already has this component. 5/Outside Connectivity All the alarms of the AHUs can be grouped into 2 different groups: category 1 and category 2. Thanks to 2 special direct outputs, these alarms can be then connected to the Building Management System and/or to the specific speech dialer. If connected to the BMS, the facility manager has to create independently the right electrical circuit for allowing the own BMS to manage these 2 signals. If managed by the speech dialer, the corresponding products are called RXC and CX, and these allow to pre-set up to 5 different phone numbers associated to the group 1 and other 4 phone numbers associated to the group 2. These numbers will be dialed if the related alarm rises.
