DIVISION 16 - ELECTRICAL SECTION 16700-1 of 3 REMOTE MONITORING SYSTEM 16700.01 GENERAL A. Description This section includes the requirements for furnishing and installing the necessary wiring and enclosure to accommodate the Remote Monitoring System. B. Operation The Remote Monitoring System is an alarm monitoring system using an existing computer located in the Utility Water Operations Building, Millersville, Maryland, which automatically interrogates alarm condition sensors at each remote wastewater site. A remote terminal unit (by others) will be connected to the various alarm sensors (float switches, pressure switches, relays, etc.) so that a signal is transmitted to the computer for each alarm condition when the circuit is completed. The computer receives these signals via the central station receiver, and after interpreting them, types out on the typewriter alarm and status log an appropriate message indicating the condition at the pump station site. 16700.02 PRODUCTS A.
