PREREQUISITE COURSES
FOR NON-MAJOR GRADUATE APPLICANTS
Applicants who have not completed an undergraduate major in Kinesiology (or equivalent B.S. degree)
must complete a prescribed set of undergraduate prerequisite courses (usually 12-15 units) with an overall
GPA of 3.2 prior to admission to the Master’s Degree Program in Kinesiology.
Required Prerequisite Courses (6 units)
KNES 210 Human Anatomy and Physiology (or equivalent course)
KNES 349 Measurement and Statistics in Kinesiology (or equivalent course)
Elective Courses (9 units)
Students should select the undergraduate prerequisites that
correspond to the Advanced Study graduate courses
listed in the advising track in which they are most
interested. (advisement tracks included in mailer- pre-req numbers are
italicized – read descriptions in on-line catalog– CSUF website.)

Applicants may petition to have any of these undergraduate prerequisite course requirements
waived based on equivalent upper division course work taken at other institutions or in other
departments and/or based on practical experiences in a variety of related fields. The petition
should be made before beginning coursework at CSUF and must include a course description
and corresponding course syllabus from each previously completed course under consideration.
