ALTERNATE NO. E-6: State the total lump sum difference in price for the
following:
Classrooms: Delete the 4 circuit remote relay panels and low voltage control
stations in each classroom (17 Rooms). In lieu of these items, provide standard
wall switches mounted adjacent to door. Provide ceiling mounted occupancy
sensor(s) with power pack and slave packs as required. Provide all line and low
voltage conduit and wiring, as per manufacturer's recommendations.
Middle School Offices: Provide ceiling mounted occupancy sensors with power
packs and slave packs, as required, for lighting shut-off in rooms D102. D103,
D105, D106, D107, & D108. These automatic controls shall be provided in lieu
of extending branch circuit conduit and wiring through Lighting Control Panel
"LCPD". Note: Lighting Control Panel "LCPD" is still required for control of
all other lighting circuits indicated.
New Gymnasium Locker Rooms: Provide ceiling mounted occupancy sensors
with power packs and slave packs, as required, for lighting shut-off in rooms
A116 through A122 and A125 through A131. These automatic controls shall be
provided in lieu of extending branch circuit conduit and wiring through Lighting

1. Before placing concrete, verify lines and levels of formwork and
form liner patterns are within allowable tolerances.
2. On multiple use liners, clean liner before each use. Replace damaged
liner whose continued use or repair would negatively impact the
aesthetics of the concrete finish.
3. Apply form liner compatible release agent at rate recommended by
manufacturer. Attempt to schedule concrete pour soon after
application of release agent to avoid precipitation, dust, and debris.
Protect reinforcing steel from exposure to release agent.
4 Seal form liner joints, form liner accessory joints, and tie holes to
prevent cement paste from bleeding.
5. Provide solid blocking at form liner butt joints to prevent deflection.
6. Construct form liner and accessories to sizes, shapes, lines, and
dimensions as required by installation.
7. Provide openings, offsets, keyways, recesses, chamfers, blocking and
screeds as required to achieve architectural concrete textured finish.
8. Drill or pierce liner to accommodate form ties.
9. Anchor liner to form on center not to exceed 18 inches. Decrease
centers as necessary to accommodate form stripping pressures
without damaging liner intended for multiple use.
10. Install backup strips as required to prevent deflection of the liner due
to form pressures.”

“TEMPORARY EXIT PROTECTION (also referenced to as “temporary enclosure”):
The General Contractor shall provide temporary covered walkways for pedestrian travel
through the construction and demolition site to maintain required exiting from the
building. These walkways must remain open and clear when the building is occupied in
accordance with all federal, state, and local code requirements.
Enclosures must be provided in full compliance with IBC Section 3306 and must include
floor, roof, and lighting, including emergency lights if required by code. Walkways shall
be of sufficient width to accommodate pedestrian travel but in no case less than 76” in
width and shall be protected from the construction area with walls consisting on
construction fencing or equivalent protection. Walkways shall be provided with a durable
walking surface. Walkways shall be fully handicap accessible in accordance with Chapter
11 of the 2006 International Building Code. It shall be responsibility of the General

Contractor to determine the need for ramps to provide legal access to grade at any
location that temporary exit protection is provided. Enclosures shall be designed to
support all imposed loads and in no case shall the design live load be less than 150
pounds per square foot. Covered walkways shall have a minimum clear height of 8 feet as
measured from the floor surface to the canopy overhead. Enclosed walkways shall be
designed to support all imposed loads. In no case shall the design load be less than 150
psf for the entire structure.
The Electrical Contractor shall provide temporary lighting as described in 3.2.B.
Electrical contractor shall also provide battery powered emergency lighting devices as
required by code.
The location and route of the exit protection may have to be modified to accommodate
the construction, however, a protected enclosure must be maintained intact whenever the
building is occupied, including the Owner’s evening activities.
Temporary shelter pedestrian protection shall be maintained in place and kept in good
order for the entire length of time construction is in progress and pedestrians may be
endangered. When removal is appropriate, the General Contractor shall notify the Owner
and Architect of his intent to remove the structure. After authorization by the Architect,
the General Contractor shall immediately remove walkways, walkway structure, debris,
and other obstructions and leave such property of the Owner in as good a condition as
before such work was commenced. The electrical contractor shall remove all temporary
lighting and emergency lighting.”
