An operating manual and maintenance manual shall be provided to the building owner. The manuals shall include, at a minimum, the following: 1. Submittal data stating equipment rating and selected options for each piece of equipment requiring maintenance. 2. Operation manuals and maintenance manuals for each piece of equipment requiring maintenance. Required routine maintenance actions shall be clearly identified. 3. Names and addresses of at least one qualified service agency. PART 2 - EXECUTION INSTALLATION A. 2.02 A. B. C. 3.01 The electrical plans show general arrangements and locations for equipment conduit, outlets, etc. Unless detailed or dimensioned, exact locations of conduit, routing of cables and placement of equipment will be governed by structural conditions, physical interference, owner equipment, and locations of electrical termination on equipment. Examine architectural, structural, and mechanical plans and shop drawings for the various equipment in order to determine exact Minimum size conductors and insulation types: A. Install conduit concealed in all areas where possible. B. Coordinate installation of conduit in masonry work. C. Attach grounds permanently before permanent building service is energized. E. Provide bonding to meet NEC Requirements, including but not limited to bonding between telephone, television, and security systems. F. Coordinate with general contractor to insure at least (2) column anchor bolts are tied to footing steel rebar at column nearest electrical service using the usual steel tie wires. 3.02 PART 2 - PRODUCTS 1. TIME CLOCK: Single or multi-circuit as indicated on the plans. Intermatic ET70000 series. INSTALLATION A. SECTION 16426 DISTRIBUTION EQUIPMENT PART 1 - GENERAL 1.01 WORK INCLUDED A. Standard and custom products equivalent to Square D, NQOD, NF, I-Line panelboards, and QMB switchboards, as well as safety switches, contactors, and starters. Cutler Hammer, Siemens, and GE are acceptable manufacturers. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.01 MATERIALS PART 3 - EXECUTION A. All distribution gear shall have a ground bus. B. For 4-wire systems, the neutral bus shall be the equivalent ampacity as the phase bus bars. C. Cover plates in commercial kitchens shall be type 302 stainless steel. All other cover plates shall be smooth white nylon unless otherwise specified herein. Provide mechanically fastened permanent plastic nametag with 1/4"H letters indicating name of each switchboard, panelboard, and transformer as well as a permanent plastic nametag indicating each load fed for each switchboard. D. C. Cover plates for receptacles installed in damp or wet locations shall be weatherproof while-in-use. All panelboards and switchboards shall use bolt-on circuit breaker overcurrent devices. E. Support vertically installed conductors at intervals not to exceed those allowed by the NEC. Do not splice vertically installed conductors. D. Cover plates for light switches in exterior, cooler, and freezer applications shall be equivalent to Carlon E98TSCN-CAR weatherproof cover. Remove any existing wiring (line voltage and low voltage) which is abandoned in place or will become obsolete due to construction. E. Any feeder lengths described in Voltage Drop or Fault Current Study tables are not to be relied upon for bidding or construction. All devices shall have a bonding pigtail conductor from grounding terminal to the metal box system (except IG). Self-grounding receptacles using mounting screws as bonding means are not approved. Safety switches used for service disconnecting means shall be Heavy Duty, 100,000 AIC minimum. All others may be General Duty. H. G. Except as otherwise indicated on the Drawings, mount devices flush, with long dimension vertical, and grounding pin on receptacles on bottom. Group adjacent switches and receptacles under a single, multi-gang wall plate. Where communications outlets are shown adjacent to power receptacles, both shall be installed at same elevation. Provide Class L fuses for individual motors, 50 hp and larger; Class J for service mains including tenant meter disconnects downstream of mains; Class RK5 fuses for all other applications. I. Refer to panel schedules for ampacities, voltage, phase, NEMA rating, mounting configuration, AIC rating, and accessories. J. Lighting contactors shall have 30 amp rated contacts, minimum. K. Provide a typewritten panel directory for each panelboard or loadcenter with sufficient detail to distinguish each circuit from all others within the panelboard or loadcenter. L. Use 500 volt tester for 208 volt and 240 volt applications; 1000 volt tester for 480 volt applications. WORK INCLUDED PART 3 - EXECUTION LIQUID-TIGHT FLEXIBLE METAL CONDUIT (LT): Provide liquid-tight, flexible metal conduit; constructed of single strip, flexible continuous, interlocked, and double-wrapped steel; galvanized inside and outside; coated with liquid-tight jacket of flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with positive locking cadmium plated steel or malleable iron fittings and compression type steel ferrule and neoprene gasket sealing rings. A. Mechanical connections shall be accessible for inspection and checking. No insulation shall be installed over mechanical ground connections. CONDUIT RACEWAYS Prior to submitting a bid, visit the project site and ascertain conditions affecting the proposed work and all existing electrical facilities. A. A. Verify all electrical loads (voltage, phase, full load amperes, number and point of connections, minimum circuit ampacity, etc.) for equipment furnished under other Sections of this specification, by reviewing respective shop drawings furnished under each section. Report any variances from electrical characteristics noted on the electrical drawings to the Engineer before proceeding with rough-in work. A. EXOTHERMIC CONNECTIONS 2. Connect electrical power supply conductors to equipment conductors in accordance with equipment manufacturer's written instructions and wiring diagrams. SITE INSPECTION Each connector shall be factory filled with an oxide-inhibiting compound. Secure flush covers with corrosion resistant screws or bolts. SECTION 16111 1.05 D. Mount rigidly in place with front of box level and plumb.
