Introduction
A. This manual presents a description of the optional equipment installed by Metro Aviation, Inc.
in the Airbus EC135. This section is laid out in such a way as to be used as a training manual
by users of the equipment.

Options Equipment Description
(1)
Landing Gear Extension STC SR09230RC
(a) The optional landing gear extensions are inserted between the forward and aft cross
tubes and the skid tube foot. The extensions raise the airframe approximately 4
inches over the standard gear light.
(2)
Clamshell Door Windows STC SR09193RC
(a) The optional clamshell door windows are identical to the factory installed option.
They are located in the aft cabin clamshell doors to allow cabin passengers to view
the area behind the aircraft.
(3)
Anti-Collision Light STC SR09188RC
(a) The optional anti-collision light replaces the factory self contain unit on the top of
the vertical fin with a standard Whelen strobe bulb and TSO’ed power supply. The
original factory switch and circuit are retained. There is no change in the operation
of the light.

NOTE:
Optional Equipment KIT 135M-OPT STC SR09354RC
Installations are designed to be stand alone installations that may be installed as a single
installation or with any combination of Optional Equipment listed below.
(a) 135M-120 Accessory Mounting Panel
The accessory mounting panel is located in the cabin and is used to mount pouches
per customer requirements. Pouch load limit is (1 lb Max per Pouch).
NOTE:
Prior to use, each item of electronic and electrical medical equipment must meet current
FAA guidance for electromagnetic compatibility.
(b) 135M-129 Window Accessory Bar Mount
The 135M-129-1 window accessory bar mount installation includes a single bar
mounts located on both the left and right hand aft windows (Bar Mount not to
Exceed 15 lbs with a max CG 3” from bar).
The 135M-129-2 window accessory bar mount installation includes a single bar
mounts located on both the left and right hand aft windows (Bar Mount not to
Exceed 15 lbs with a max CG 3” from bar).
These bar mounts may be used by the medical crew in the care of patients, to support
medical equipment with easily removable mounts.

(c) 135M-130 Accessory Bar Mount.
The 135M-130-2 accessory bar mount installation includes a single bar mount
located adjacent to the aft LH/RH window (Accessory Bar Load Limit 5.5 lbs Max
C.G 3 inches from bar).
This 135M-130-3 accessory bar mount installation includes a single bar mount
located on the aft bulkhead (Individual equipment weight not to exceed 18.5 pounds.
Total weight per bar not to exceed 37 lbs. with a max CG of 4” from bar. Attachment
points of individual equipment must be separated by a minimum of 5”).
NOTE:
The 135M-130-3 accessory bar mount installation supersedes the 135M-130-1 accessory
bar mount installations.
The 135M-130-4 accessory bar mount installation includes a single bar mount
located adjacent to the aft LH/RH window (Accessory Bar Load Limit 3 lbs Max
C.G 3 inches from bar).
These bar mounts may be used by the medical crew in the care of patients, to support
medical equipment with easily removable mounts.
NOTE:
Prior to use, each item of electronic and electrical medical equipment must meet current
FAA guidance for electromagnetic compatibility.
(d) 135M-140 Portable Oxygen Mount
The 135M-140-3 Portable Oxygen Mounts is located on the right hand clamshell
door.
NOTE:
The 135M-140-3 installation superseded the 135M-140-1 Installation.
The 135M-140-2 Portable Oxygen Mounts is located aft of the pilot seat.
These mounts are used to store a “D” size cylinder only (MAX WEIGHT 10 LBS).
All cylinders installed in these mounts must meet requirements of CFR 49 Parts 171,
172 and 173 except 173.24(a)(1).
(e) 135M-160 Portable Oxygen Mount
The Portable Oxygen Mount is located aft of the pilot seat. Mount is used to store an
“E” size cylinder only (MAX WEIGHT 16 LBS).
All cylinders installed in this mount must meet requirements of CFR 49 Parts 171,
172 and 173 except 173.24(a)(1).

(f) 135M-168 Medical Hooks
The 135M-168-1 medical utility hooks consist of 2x medical hooks attached to the
medical control panel (Weight not to Exceed 2.5 lbs per hook).
The 135M-168-2 medical utility hooks consist of 2x medical hooks attached to the
medical control panel (Weight not to Exceed 2.5 lbs per hook).
The 135M-168-3 medical utility hooks consist of 2x medical hooks attached to the
cabin overhead panel (Weight not to Exceed 2.5 lbs per hook).
The hooks provide a location for the medical crew to hang IV solutions bags, not
allowing them to drop in flight.
(g) 135M-170 Loading Lights
The loading light system consists of 2x Devore Aviation Corporation Tell Tail
Lights, a switch in the cockpit overhead console labeled “Load Lights”, and a 7.5
amp circuit breaker in the cockpit overhead console labeled “Load LTS”. The
loading lights are mounted over the left and right hand sliding doors on the cabin
roof (the right hand load light is optional). They are used to illuminate the area
around the aircraft at night to aid in safe loading operations.
NOTE:
The loading light system is for ground use only.
(h) 135M-176 Zoll Mount
The Zoll mount is located on the aft cabin bulkhead. It is designed specifically for the
ZOLL Defibrillator in several variations.
NOTE:
Prior to use, each item of electronic and electrical medical equipment must meet current
FAA guidance for electromagnetic compatibility.
(i) 135M-180 Supplemental Strobe Lighting
The 145M-180-1 Supplemental Strobe Lighting consists of a switch in the cockpit
overhead console labeled “STROBE LTS”, a 5 amp circuit breaker in the cockpit
overhead console labeled “STROBE” and a combination wingtip strobe/position
light assemblies Whelen P/N 01-0770054-01 & -3 (PMA PQ0610NE) that replace
the type certified position lights on the end of the horizontal stabilizer. The type
certified position lights system controls remain unchanged. Additionally, a Whelen
power supply P/N 01-0770028-05 (PMA PQ0610NE) is located on the center line of
the tail boom in the area under the horizontal stabilizer. The EC135P1/P2/P2+/T1/
T2/T2+ type certified position lights system controls remain unchanged.
The 145M-180-3 Supplemental Strobe Lighting consists of a switch in the cockpit
overhead console labeled “STROBE LTS”, a 2 amp circuit breaker in the cockpit

overhead console labeled “STROBE” and a combination wingtip strobe/LED
position light assemblies Whelen P/N 01-0790725-11 & -12 (TSO-C30c) that
replace the type certified position lights on the end of the horizontal stabilizer. The
EC135P3/T3 type certified position lights system controls remain unchanged.
NOTE:
Strobe Lights will be turned-off when taxiing in vicinity of other aircraft, or during flight
through cloud, fog or haze. The position lights to be on for all night operation.
Compliance with 27.1385, 27.1387, 27.1389, 27.1391, 27.1393, 27.1395, and
27.1397 was found via design, TSO-C30c, SAE as 8037c. STC SA800ER,
AC20-41 and Whelen Engineering D0-160g Testing Summary Sheet.
(j) 135M-185 Auxiliary Lighting
The auxiliary lighting system consists of 2 ea. PAR 36 lights secured to the AFT
cross tube below the belly of the aircraft, a circuit breaker, a relay and a collective
mounted on-off switch (existing). The lights are located to not interfere with the
pilot’s night vision or create glare in the cockpit. The system is wired directly to the
battery to ensure that in the unlikely event there is a dual generator failure that the
pilot will still have sufficient light to make a safe night landing. To activate the
lights, the pilot activates the collective mounted switch.
(k) 135M-187 Cabin Reading Lights
The 145M-187 cabin reading lights consist of (2x) Aveo Engineering, LED Swivel
Light with touch control and dimming capability located in cabin overhead panel.
(l) 135M-190 Propaq Mount
The Propaq mount is located on the aft cabin bulkhead. It is designed specifically for
the PROPAQ® vital signs monitor in several variations.

(m)135M-195 Controllable Search Light
The 135M-195 controllable search light system consists of a 850,000 candle power
Nightscanner® and existing aircraft collective mounted switches. The
Nightscanner® is powered by a 25 amp CB labeled “LDG LGT PWR” on Shed Bus
1 in the left hand circuit breaker panel 11VE and an existing 2 amp CB labeled
“LDG LGT CONT” located in the cockpit overhead 12VE panel. The
Nightscanner® is mounted in the forward belly (chin panel) and is operated by the
activation of the existing collective (4) position switch labeled “L/S LT”. The
existing collective mounted switch must be placed to “L/S LT” position for the slew
control to work. Additionally, the collective mounted switch allows for elevation
and azimuth control of the light used to perform reconnaissance of a landing area at
night. The factory installed IR function is deactivated for this installation.

(n) 135M-198 Ancra Floor Fittings
The 135M-198 Ancra floor fittings will be used by the medical crew to secure
medical bags to the floor.
