ORACLE DATA SHEET KEY FEATURES Huge capacity—with up to 160,000 sq. ft. of available space and 10 megawatts of available power Multiple levels of resiliency, redundancy, and security Fully redundant power, environmental, and data network systems World-class security technologies and practices Global technical support 24/7 KEY BENEFITS End-to-end managed cloud services for Oracle hardware and software Oracle takes care of deployment, management, monitoring, patching, security, and upgrade services Rigorous security for your data and processes U.K. DATA CENTRE, LINLITHGOW, SCOTLAND With Oracle personnel managing Oracle platforms that are running Oracle applications, the Linlithgow Data Centre (LLG) offers a level of integration and performance that only Oracle can deliver. LLG has been specifically built to provide high levels of resilience, availability, and security designed to ensure that Oracle On Demand customers benefit from cloud computing services that they can depend on. Security—Protecting Your Data Rigorous security and access control systems—together with employee screening and 24/7, on-site security personnel—are designed to ensure that your data and services are secure. • Employee background checks performed by pre-employment screening specialists • On-site security personnel 24/7 • Dual authentication access system for data centre • Electronic photo ID badges • A combination of PIR motion sensors, CCTV cameras, and intruder detection beams protect the exterior walls • CCTV cameras monitor and record the exterior and interior of the campus. Images are monitored 24/7 in LLG’s central control room • All Oracle personnel take training on information protection and corporate ethics • Backup tapes shipped to an off-site, fire-safe storage vault facility • All data on backup tapes is encrypted using strong cryptography • Restricted and monitored logical access controls in place • 24/7 security monitoring leveraging SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) • Enhanced Security Services, including but not limited to Web Application Firewall, Oracle database auditing, file integrity monitoring, data masking are available. • Managed IdM Services, including strong authentication, single sign-on, identity analytics and provisioning, identity federation services are available. Designed to allow concurrent maintainability Tested and hardened configurations of the entire Oracle stack: • Virtualised • RAC-enabled • Scalable • Reliable • Secure • Open source Latest advances in virtualisation, Linux, and grid computing help to boost value Optional Disaster Recovery facility—using Oracle data centre in Reading, England Data Network—Providing High-Speed, Resilient Communications LLG’s data network has been designed to include carrier and route diversity, hardware redundancy, and dual links for network hubs. • Multiple carriers—multiple, diverse cable entrance paths • Enterprise-grade network and network security infrastructure deployed in a high availability mode • Carrier-specific routers • 10GbE backbone infrastructure • Network-based Intrusion Detection and Prevention Service • Major fibre carrier cable infrastructure situated close to site Electrical System—Keeping Your Services Up and Running LLG has a fully redundant, N+1 electrical power system. In the event of a power outage, multiple Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and multiple generators provide fully redundant backup power sources. • Two 11 kV active utility feeds to 1600 kVA transformers, dual utility switchgear with failover capability • Four 500 kVA diesel backup generators, with N+1 redundancy • Two pairs of multi-module, fully redundant (N+1) UPS • Dual 1600 kVA transformer/dual feed static switch Power Distribution Units (PDU) • Diverse A & B UPS power provided to all racks ORACLE DATA SHEET Environmental Control—Maintaining the Ideal Environment The cooling system uses N+1 redundancy designed to eliminate single points of failure. In addition, when the external temperature is below 14oC, free cooling coils enable the chillers to cool the room and reduce electricity consumption. • Three 250 kW chillers—to permit a 500 kW rated room with N+1 capability • Computer Room Air Conditioner (CRAC) units in infrastructure room provide N+1 capability • CRAC units combined across the full room can collectively run at 500 kW • Dual closed chiller loops permit dual pipe failover to all CRAC units • Cold Aisle Containment systems—to boost energy efficiency Fire Detection and Suppression—Providing Early Detection and Segmented Response Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) system sensors are located throughout LLG. Fire detection and suppression is segmented into multiple areas. A gas-based fire suppression system uses FM-200 (HFC-227ea) clean chemical agent to absorb heat from the fire so that combustion cannot continue. • Early detection • Multi-area, segmented response • Gas-based fire suppression Leak and Humidity Detection—Preventing Water Damage The raised floor area of the data centre includes a water leak detection system to help prevent water damage to any of the computer hardware. • Alarm sounds at the remote central monitoring station • Humidity level is sampled at every other CRAC unit • Alerts are triggered if humidity level goes above or below thresholds Standards—Embracing Globally Recognized Practices • ITIL based • ISO 27002 Certificate of Conformance • Cloud Services Risk Management’s On Demand Security Services team has been granted an ISO 27001 Certification for its staff, technology, and processes • LLG and its processes have been audited under the ISAE 3402 standard—a SOC1 report is available • Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance service is available • 21 CFR Part II validation support service is available Contact Us For more information about Cloud Services On Demand, visit oracle.com/cloudservices or call +44 150 667 2202 to speak to an Oracle representative.
