(BRAND CONSUMERGOODS SHOW), KUNSHAN, CHINA 19-21 MAY, 2016 UNDER MAI SCHEME
Kunshan City in China, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Suzhou, is located in the Yangtze River
Delta, between two metropolises, Shanghai and Suzhou in China. The rapid economic expansion and
industrialization over the past two decades have turned the city into a wealthy metropolis.
In 2014, foreign trade import and export of China total at over USD four trillion for the very first time. Import
hit USD 1.95 trillion, up by 7.3% year on year. The import of consumer goods reached USD 232.29 billion,
an increase of 24.6% over 2013. Regarding country and regional partners, the EU, the U.S., ASEAN, Hong
Kong and Japan were the five biggest trading partners of China in 2014. Meanwhile, AESAN states and
other emerging markets became new growth areas of foreign trade.
China Import Expo 2016 (Brand Consumer Goods Show), Kunshan (hereafter referred to as “CIE”), which
is co-hosted by Ministry of Commerce, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Jiangsu
Provincial People’s Government. As the only professional import expo in China, CIE adheres to the theme
of “openness and cooperation, transformation and upgrading”, and carries out exhibition and activities
centring on the advanced technology, key equipment and emerging industries with strategic importance.
CIE has been held for 4 editions since 2012.
The 2015 edition of CIE attracted over 600 enterprises from 43 countries and regions across the world, with
total exhibition area of 80,000 m2. And the accumulated number of trade visitors exceeded 50,000 during
the four-day expo. CIE 2016 will focus on four main exhibiting sectors - Sector for Metal Working and
Automation, Sector for Environmental Protection and New Materials, Sector for Brand Consumer Goods.
The exhibition area is expected to be 80,000 m2 with a total of 70,000 expected visitors. This is a B2B fair
with retail opportunities for overseas exhibitors.
The Council invites applications from the interested members for participation in above show under
Marketing Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme. A standard booth of the 9 Sq. mtrs will be offered on a highly
subsidized amount of Rs. 15,000/- to each participant in the above fair.. Since the MAI (Marketing Access
Initiating) fund is available for above participation and cost of participation is highly subsidized, therefore
MDA Grant is not available for participant is above exhibition. The above charge includes Surrounding
Walls, 1 Discussion Table, 2 Chairs, 2 spotlights, Company Name Fascia. However, the all expenditure like
dispatch of goods, custom clearance, and payment of duties, air-ticket, boarding and lodging are to be
borne by the participants themselves. The Council will issue necessary visa recommendation letter
however grant of visa is the discretion of concerned Embassy. In case visa is not granted the Council will
not be liable and any request for refund of participation charges will not be entertained.
Interested members may please forward their application as per enclosed format along with a Demand
Draft of Rs. 15,000/- in favour of EXPORT PROMOTION COUNCIL FOR HANDICRAFTS payable at New
Delhi, or RTGS details mentioned in fact sheet. If the applicant withdraws their participation after selection,
the amount deposited along with application will be forfeited. The complete application along with requisite

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. SPACE BOOKING:
Application in prescribed format for participation in overseas activities of the Council to be submitted within
the prescribed date for booking of space. Subletting of booth allotted is strictly prohibited.
2. ALLOTMENT OF SPACE TO THE PARTICIPANTS:
The Council reserves the right to select the participants. Submission of application for booking of space
does not confer a right for allotment of space.
3. WITHDRAWAL & REFUND OF PARTICIPATION FEE:
Members may please note that after selection withdrawal from participation will not be allowed and
the amount deposited along with application will be forfeited.
4. VISA:
The Council will provide necessary assistance by way of issuance of recommendation letter to the
concerned Mission for obtaining visas. Visa recommendation letter will be issued only in favour of the Chief
Executive / Director / Proprietor/Senior Officer of the company.
5. GENERAL:



Only goods of Indian origin will be allowed for display at India Pavilion.
The spaced allotted to the approved participants is to be exclusively used by them for display of their
exhibits. Subletting of space is not permissible. Violation of this clause and the code of conduct of the
exhibitor may lead to cancellation of space allotted, forfeiture of space rent and debarring the member
exporter from the future participations.
In case representative of the participants will not report at booth during the show. EPCH reserve
its right to obtain reason from participants for NO SHOW. In case EPCH is not satisfied with
clarification of participants EPCH may initiate the necessary action against such participants.
