NCEA Level 1 Assessment Specifications General Information Domain Japanese Level 1 Mode of Assessment Written examination For Year 2008 This document contains the assessment specifications for achievement standards 90102, 90105 and 90106. Specific Information for Individual External Achievement Standards Achievement Standard Number 90102 Title Listen to and understand spoken Japanese in familiar contexts Version 2 Number of Credits 6 Format of the assessment There will be 2 or 3 texts, which will be read four times by a teacher or teachers nominated by the school. The first and last time candidates will hear it read as a whole. The second and third times they will hear it read in sections, with a pause after each section. There will be 8 questions designed to provide evidence of achievement, 6 for merit and 4 for excellence. The requirements for achieving the standard are: Achievement: any eight correct answers Merit: achievement plus five additional correct answers (three of which must be merit/excellence answers) Excellence: merit plus three additional correct answers (two of which must be excellence answers). Titles, instructions and questions will be in English.
