the antenna panel enables the use of just three panels instead of the usual four in order to achieve full,
360° coverage. This provides a very cost effective solution by eliminating one panel as well as 25 % of the
costs for connectors, jumper cables and splitters.
The panel also provides a convenient solution for
applications such as directional systems and gapfillers. Its low wind load and exceptionally low weight
makes it very well suited for temporary applications
and for placement on short or light weight towers,
roof tops, etc.
Other features include a DC grounded feedline, a
typical gain of 10 dBd and a maximum input power
of 3.3 kW peak sync. Available in white or red.

The antenna panel is distinctively smaller and lighter
than conventional UHF antenna panels. At just over
81 cm high and 30 cm wide, this design significantly
reduces wind load by as much as 60 % compared to
typical panels.

Exir Broadcasting´s new antenna system is a perfect
solution for digital stations. Based on our new antenna panel designed for maximum voltage rather
than maximum power, it is particularly well suited for
use with digital, multi-channel systems, The antenna
system is a complete solution with splitters, antenna
panels and an integrated tower section. Panels are
fed through an internal network. So with only one
input connection it is easy to place the system on
top of a mast, tower or building and to connect it to
a feeder. This Band IV+ antenna system is omni-directional with horizontal polarization and up to four
tiers of three panels per tier. Maximum power of up
to 24 kW and typical gain of up to 10 dBd.
This small, compact system is easy to place in
crowded urban areas and on existing masts and
towers, and offers an excellent solution for replacing older, larger systems having far greater wind
load. In its largest configuration, this system is just
6 metres high and has very low wind load.

PRODUCT PROFILE
The UHF Hybrid system is a complete antenna solution containing cables, splitters, loads and antenna
panels. The system contains antenna panels on four
faces and the desired number of tiers. Hybrid splitters give the system extreme wideband isolated
performance. The antenna is divided into two halves
that can be operated separately or combined into a
single antenna. The panels are mounted on stainless steel plates that can be tailor-made to suit your
tower requirements.
Exir Broadcasting is responsible for more than 40
high-power, high-gain, multi-channel systems in
operation for over 10 years.
HYBRID ANTENNA SYSTEM
The unique hybrid system designed by Exir Broadcasting is based on a splitter system using the
3 dB-coupler principle. Each quarter wave coupler
provides equal power division (-3 dB down compared
to input) as well as a 90 degree phase shift throughout the band. The last four hybrid splitters (multicouplers) in the chain consist of 3 x 3 dB-couplers.
These multicouplers are widebanded and are used
as main splitters/tier splitters in the antenna system. Each tier is fed with equal power, but in `phase
quadrature´ i.e. 0, 90, 180 and 270 degrees. The
270 degrees is achieved by using an upside down
version of UHF panel. See system schematic above.
The antenna panel design incorporates an 80 mm
horizontal offset. As there is a 90 degree phase difference in each output, and all antenna cables are of
equal length, the offset creates a self-compensating
structure. If the radome is iced, the reflected power
will end up in the reject load and the impedance will
be constant across the entire UHF band. In addition,
reflections caused by icing are prevented from being re-radiated from other panels. The same principle
can be applied throughout the system and can even
be used at ground level in the combiner chain.

PRODUCT PROFILE
The connectors for air dielectricum cables are made
of silver-plated brass. To maintain pressure and
render the connector moisture-proof, high-quality
EPDM O-rings are used on the copper wrapping and
on the plastic cover of the cable. If the plastic cover
is damaged, these gaskets ensure both moisture and
water resistance. A connection for a gas nipple is optional. The connectors are easy to replace if reconnecting is necessary. Flanging tools are available.

Exir Broadcasting produces and sells warning lights
for masts and towers as demanded by current air
safety regulations.
The long-flashing lights from Exir Broadcasting are
manufactured in stainless steel and can withstand
all climatic condition, such as heavy wind and rain,
snow and ice, sand, dust and salt. The design has
been tested over many years in all Teracom’s masts
around Sweden and has proved its operational reliability.
Exir Broadcasting´s long-flashing light rotates at 40
revolutions per minute and has three 200 Watt lamps
with reflectors.
The unit rotates night and day for several years
and is extremely reliable. However, after 5-8 years
of operation the wear on some parts may have
reached a level where a breakdown is possible. That
is why we recommend warning lighting is returned
to us after 4 years for service maintenance. During
this inspection a substitute long-flashing light will
be provided.
In normal operating circumstances bulbs will have
to be changed regularly. Bulbs can be obtained from
Exir Broadcasting.
Exir Broadcasting´s long-flashing lights have a 1-year
guarantee.

Antenna Systems
QuickSite can be equipped with antenna systems for virtually any application, including as a satellite downlink. Each QuickSite unit can be individually configured with your choice of directional or omni-directional systems, radiation pattern and
number of tiers. Exir Broadcasting’s new 120˚ antenna panel (shown) is extremely small for minimising wind load, and offers
an excellent three-panel solution for Band IV-V applications.
Integrated Tower
QuckSite
Integrated tower sections are available in various models depending upon the specific application, and can accommodate
one- and two-tier antenna systems. One model can be mounted directly on top of the cabinet, a feature that makes QuickSite the most compact transmitter station available. Of course, QuickSite can also be easily connected to antennas mounted
on existing broadcasting or telecom masts.
All-Climate Cabinet

QuickSite features a robust cabinet designed to withstand all weather conditions and climates. Built around a standard 19”
rack system, the standard cabinet measures just 120 x 80 x 80 cm and is dimensioned for environments of –40˚C to +50˚C.
Alternative sizes are available depending on the amount of equipment to be included, with various climate control systems
for maintaining steady temperature and humidity levels. Advanced Controlled Electromagnetic Topology (CET) techniques
have been implemented to provide a superior electrical environment for maximum protection.
QuickSite can also be delivered without the cabinet for indoor placement or for installation in an existing transmitter station
using the 19” rack.
Choice of Equipment
QuickSite can be equipped with various amplifiers, combiners, modulators and more depending on the particular application
for which it is to be used. Based on customer specifications concerning type of media, e.g. DAB, DTT, GSM, Broadband Internet, etc., as well as frequency and signal strength, QuickSite is fully configured and tuned at the factory making installation
and start of operation extremely simple. Furthermore, all system components can be easily removed and replaced within
minutes, allowing for effortless service and maintenance.
