CCC Official CCC Logo Style Guide CCC T he logo of Contra Costa College and its usage is an important and valuable part of the college’s brand. And, the brand of the college is everything the college stands for in its physical buildings & grounds, to its mission, vision, campus offerings, administration, faculty, staff and its shared values with the community. The logo is the “graphic” identity of the college and represents the “brand” of the college. The following “Style Guide” for the CCC Logo was created to establish and clarify the usage of the logo in the way it is to be presented and used. CCC Logo = Symbol + Wordmark Contra Costa College’s Official LOGO is the combination of two elements which are: 1. The logo “symbol” of CCC and 2. the words “Contra Costa College” using a specific typeface font treatment. This CCC Logo is placed on the college’s stationery and letterhead including other CCC print materials such as brochures, newsletters, bulletins, schedules, catalogs, flyers, posters, programs and ads. Its placement on a business card is for college use only and its usage there follows a specific exception to the “Official CCC Logo.” Follow the guidelines outlined in this “Style Guide” when using the CCC Logo on any CCC related printed or online materials. Note: The CCC Comet Logo is not a replacement logo for the College’s Official Logo. CCC Logo = Symbol + Wordmark CCC’s Specific Logo Description Contra Costa College’s Official LOGO is the combination of two elements. The CCC logo symbol: and the text (wordmark) “Contra Costa College” in the typeface Neutraface Bold: CCC Horizontal Logo CCC Vertical Logos CCC CCC CCC Proportion Use of the Contra Costa College’s Official Logo should always retain the original proportions of the approved logo files. Any scaling in size of the CCC Logo should retain those proportions of height and width. If you need to re-size the logo, always constrain proportions by locking the aspect ratio, so the height and width are scaled together. Spacing There should always be a buffer zone surrounding the Horizontal CCC Logo, with no type nor graphics appearing in the zone. The buffer zonein this Horizonatal Version of the CCC Logo is the space that is half of the height (1/2 x) of the capital C in “Contra Costa College” (x) in the symbol/wordmark. It extends above, below, to the left and to the right of the wordmark. For a printed piece the CCC logo placement shall be at least 3/8 inches from the edge or top of page. The capital C in “Contra Costa College” in the CCC Logo should not appear smaller than 3/16 inches in height. (see height of x) 1/2 x x CCC 1/2 x X height cannot be less than 3/16 inches when using the CCC Logo. Spacing on Vertical CCC Logos There should always be a buffer zone surrounding the Vertical CCC Logo, with no type nor graphics appearing in the zone. The buffer zone is the space that is the height (x) of the capital C in “Contra Costa College” (x) in the CCC Logo. It extends above, below, to the left and to the right of the wordmark. For a printed piece the CCC logo placement shall always be at least 3/8 inches from the edge or top of page. The vertical height of the total CCC Logo from the base of the wordmark text to the top of the symbol should be no smaller than 3/8 inches. Vertical logo A Vertical logo B x x x 3/8” Minimum Height x 3/8” Minimum Height x x This vertical logo version shows a larger type size relative to the logo symbol, but it occupies less space than “Vertical Logo A.” It is more ideal for ads that may have multiple logos or where space is a premium. The Official Contra Costa College LOGO Do not: · alter the mark in any way. · replace the words “Contra Costa College” in the wordmark with any other word. · redesign, redraw, animate, modify, distort or alter the proportions of the mark. · surround the mark with—or place in the foreground over—a pattern or design. · rotate or render the mark three-dimensionally. · add words, images or any other new elements to the mark. · replace the approved typeface with any other typeface. · enclose the mark in a shape or combine it with other design elements or effects. · modify the size or position relationship of any element within the mark. · add additional copy to the mark. PMS 281 (blue) For printing that will be forward to a an offset press as a one color (PMS 281) job for the economy of a large print run the Pantone Matching System of color is used. This generally applies to Letterhead & Envelopes with a minimum run of 5000. RGB r0 g62 b126 This RGB (red/green/blue) viewed on a color monitor is the onsreen equivalent to the CCC “Midnight Blue” in print. #003e7e This Hexadecimal expression of the CCC “Midnight Blue” is the web based color code reference for that RGB color (r0 g62 b126).
