T
he Mechanical Contractors Association of Eastern Missouri and Plumbers’ & Pipefitters’ Local Union No. 562 again provided heating system inspections to hundreds of disabled and needy homeowners in the counties of St. Louis and
St. Charles, Missouri this fall during the 29th Annual Project “Heat’s On.”
The two organizations donated their time, resources, and materials valued at approximately $135 per home during this year’s project, conducted on October 10, 2015. A 34-point inspection included water heaters and furnaces.
“Our goal this year was to reach as many homes as possible, and we continue to do this to help the community we live in,” said Mike Hurley, President, Mechanical Contractors Association of Eastern Missouri.
“We are proud to offer this service to our community,” said John O’Mara, Business Manager/Secretary-Treasurer,
Plumbers’ & Pipefitters’ Local Union No. 562. “It’s great for our union members to give our talents and resources to this worthy cause.”
In the past 29 years our vendor members and sponsors have donated a variety of needed supplies to be used in the homes.
We thank you for your support.
John O’Mara, Business Manager/
Secretary-Treasurer, Plumbers’ &
Pipefitters’ Local Union No. 562, explains the purpose of the program.

I t is hard to believe that the holidays are behind us already. Hopefully everyone had a good holiday season.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the committees for their hard work this past year. I appreciate all of their support and time, and I believe much has been accomplished.
We are coming up to another legislative session in Jefferson
City, and I believe we will be well-represented during the session. Our issues aren’t widely known, but we will be there, and our concerns will be heard.
Hopefully everyone will have a great year in 2016, and we will see you at the next membership meeting.
Once again, thank you for allowing me to be your president for the last three years. It has been an honor.
Respectfully,
President

T he Mechanical Contractors Association Student Chapter at Mizzou was busy in the fall of 2015. The students visited a job site in Columbia on September 8, 2015. October 1-3, they attended the MCAA Student Summit in Cleveland,
Ohio. They also participated in the Mechanical Contractors Association of Eastern Missouri Golf Outing on October 6,
2015.
The Mechanical Contractors Association of Eastern Missouri held its 13th Annual College/University
Scholarship Tournament on October 6, 2015 at Norwood Hills Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri.
The day began with registration and lunch, providing participants with the opportunity to interact with each other. The open driving range began at 9:00 a.m., tee off commenced at noon, and the competition began.
Mulligans were available for golfers, and those who took advantage of it seemed happy with their decision and their “extra” shots.
The Mizzou Student Chapter members participated in a round of golf and visited with contractors and vendors.
After completing the 18-hole course, everyone was welcomed back at the clubhouse for a cocktail hour while the scores were recorded and the winner determined. A dinner followed where attendance prizes were announced and the tournament winners were presented their awards.
