companies can participate in the future development of the

• On October 25, 2011, the HDMI Founders announced the
launch of the HDMI Forum

What is the HDMI Forum?
• Nonprofit, mutual benefit corporation to support and develop
future versions of the HDMI Specification
• Open for participation by any entity
• Requires acceptance of membership application, signed Participation
Agreement and payment of annual membership fee
• Members join and renew annually
• No limit on the number of members
• Provides open, fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory licensing
• Governed by a membership-elected Board of Directors

What is the HDMI Forum’s Charter?
• Support and develop future versions of the HDMI Specification
• Support and maintain the ecosystem of interoperable HDMIenabled products
• Promote future HDMI Specifications and conduct its activities

How to Join the HDMI Forum
• Any entity may join the HDMI Forum
• Subject to acceptance and conditions of Participation Agreement
• Potential Members:
• Submit a Membership Application
• Review Bylaws—including Participation Agreement and IPR Policy
• Submit two signed copies of the Participation Agreement
• Pay the annual membership fee of USD $15,000

Additional Member Opportunities
• Join the Technical Working Group (TWG)
• Designate a company representative to participate
• Prepare marketing requirements and/or a technical proposal
for future submission
• Nominate a candidate for the Board of Directors
• Eligible only if a Participation Agreement is executed before
November 14, 2011, 5pm US PST
• Board Members serve a 2-year tenure
• USD $5,000 annual fee if elected
• Once Participation Agreement is signed, Members can submit
nomination for initial Board seat
