Keeps power on even when trigger is released (for 70 seconds), and will display
LOCK on the screen. Push the LOCK button again to turn off lock feature (unit
MAC100turns off after 7 seconds).

Hold the trigger and press the C/F button to select Celsius or Fahrenheit. To
activate Bluetooth, continue to hold the C/F button until Bluetooth on appears
Alarmthe screen. To turn off Bluetooth, hold the C/F button until Bluetooth oFF is
on
displayed.

If the temperature reading is exceeds alarm settings, the meter will beep and display
Low Alarm or High Alarm.
1. Activate LOCK function
2. Press and hold the ε button for 3 seconds until Alarm and High flash on the display.
Use the LOCK and C/F buttons to adjust the high alarm value.
3. Press the ε button until Alarm and Low flashes on the display. Use the LOCK and
C/F buttons to adjust the low alarm value.
4. Press the ε button to return to normal operation.
Taking a non-contact reading: infrared (IR) mode
1. Hold down the trigger to turn the unit on.
2. Align the laser with the target, holding the front of the thermometer 8 inches from
the target (spot size will be 1 inch at this distance).
3. Read the temperature on the screen.
Taking a contact reading: thermocouple (K) mode

Hold down the trigger to turn the unit on and push the LOCK button.
Press the SEL button until K appears next to LOCK on the screen.
Connect the temperature probe to the input jack on the front of the handle.
Insert the probe tip into the air, liquid or touch the surface to be measured.
Read the temperature on the screen.
To set emissivity using a contact probe when emissivity is not known:
5. Follow steps 1-4 above and note the temperature reading.
6. Remove the probe.
7. Hold down the LOCK button to turn the meter off.
8. After meter is off, point the instrument at the location the probe took the
measurement and squeeze the trigger.
9. Press the ε button and the LOCK or C/F button until the display reading matches
the reading from step 6.
10. Press the SEL button to save the setting. Emissivity is set for the surface.

Setting the alarm
Hold the trigger and press the ε button till ε = flashes on the display. Push the
LOCK button to increase the emissivity or the C/F button to decrease. Push the ε

Hold the trigger and press the REC button until REC is shown on the display. Push

Connecting Bluetooth
1. Hold the trigger and press the C/F button until Bluetooth on is displayed.
2. Search for Bluetooth devices on your PC. The meter will be listed as
MAC100XXXXXXXX (X=last 8 digits of serial number).
3. Pair the meter over Bluetooth. If asked for a PIN use 1234. Windows will assign
incoming and outgoing COM ports.
4. Start Windows hyperterminal or similar program. Use the COM port setting as
assigned in step 3.
5. Press the hyperterminal CONNECT button.
6. THe MAC100 will beep when the connection is made and data will begin streaming
in ASCII format at 1 reading/sec.
7. Data will stream as long as LOCK function is in use or trigger is held.
