Application and function
The EASY PB Coupler allows a connection of common push buttons, switches or motion detector with
potential free contact to an EASY light control system. It is operated with low voltage and is directly
supplied over the EASY signal cable, therefore no additional supply is necessary. Functionality can be
selected by integrated DIP switches. The EASY PB coupler can be placed in behind the switch of push
button plate in a flush device box.

• Please read these operating instructions carefully before installing and using the EASY PB
Coupler. This is the only way to ensure that you use the equipment safely and correctly. Keep
these operating instructions in a safe place for future reference. You should make sure that
everyone who uses EASY PB Coupler has read these operating instructions.
• The EASY PB Coupler may not be installed together with line voltage parts in the same
housing.
• EASY PB Coupler may only be installed by qualified personnel who has been appropriately
trained and who has the relevant authority. The installation personnel must be familiar with
the operating instructions. Power must be switched off before any work is undertaken on the
unit.
• The EASY PB Coupler is designed for mounting in flush device boxes, independent mounting
requires appropriate cable clamp and isolation against line voltage parts.
• The relevant safety and accident prevention regulations must be observed.
• Only potential free push buttons, switches or contacts may be connected, ensure sufficient
isolation against line voltage.
• If the control cable or switch inputs is/are connected to an external voltage, particularly with
mains voltage, the unit may be destroyed!

OSRAM operation instructions: EASY Push Button Coupler
For a suggestive functionality only one contact connected to inputs T1 to T 8 may be closed
at a time.
Only potential free floating switches or contacts may be connected, ensure sufficient
isolation against line voltage, otherwise the device ma y be destroyed.
Please ensure SELV sufficient isolation to all line voltage parts.

3. Points of operation for scene- and sequence control
The EASY PB Coupler is connected to the EASY control units via the included Y-Connector with screw
terminals. It converts push or switch operations in corresponding digital telegrams and transmits them to
control units type DALI EASY or OT EASY. Functions of push buttons or contacts connected are
determined by selection of the input T1 to T8 and the DIP switched setting as described in the following
tables.

Short press:
The selected channel or the whole lighting is switched on or off.
Long press:
The luminaries in of the selected channel or all luminaries are faded up or down.
The fade direction changes each time the button is held down. If the channel /
the whole lighting is switched off, a long press switches it on and fades it from
minimum to maximum brightness.
2. Recalling and storing scenes
Buttons are used to store the individual scenes and recall them.
Short press:
Long press:
The selected scene is recalled.
The current lighting situation is stored under the corresponding scene number
The luminaries will flash once to confirm that the scene has been stored.
3. Starting and stopping sequences

Keeping
pressed:
Recall next scene.
Subsequent scenes are recalled every 2s as long as the button is pressed.
Switch or motion detector operation
1. Recall of scenes
When contact is closed the scene assigned to input T1 to T8 is recalled. When the contact is opened (=
idle state), scene A 16 is recalled automatically . Default setting of scene 16: all channels switched OFF.
Contact is closed:
Recall corresponding scene.
Contact is opened:
