HPF (High Performance Foam) Coaxial Cable
HPF "High Performance Foam" Flexible Coaxial
Cables curve, twist, and snake their way into those
hard-to-reach spots that more rigid cables just can't
touch. This ultimate flexibility ensures the best performance for applications on Wireless and Cellular
Communications, Personal Communications
Systems, and Antenna Systems.
A unique manufacturing process makes stripping
the dielectric from the center conductor clean and
easy. Every time. Most importantly, high-strength,
closed cell foam polyethylene dielectric with a
composite braid configuration ensures low attenuation, a high degree of shielding effectiveness, and
long term reliability.
A standard polyethylene jacket prevents weathering, abrasion, and chemical damage. For indoor applications, a PVC jacket is offered for CATVR rating
and high performance materials are offered for
CATVP plenum rating.
Popular cables include HPF195, HPF240, and
HPF400 with sizes ranging from .100" to .500" in
diameter. Both cable and connectors are available
from stock.
High Performance Dielectrics
High velocity gas injected closed cell polyethylene
dielectrics afford cost effective low loss cable constructions for many different applications.
HPF cables are ideal for use as jumper cables and
antenna feeder runs in wireless and personal communication systems. Plenum Cable constructions
are also available.
Connector Availability
HPF and HPP cables have been designed taking into
consideration existing connector availability and termination techniques. The HPP100 cable has been
designed for use with standard RG316 and RG174
connectors, and the HPF195 cable has been designed for use with standard RG142 and RG58
connectors. Connectors for HPF200, HPF240,
HPF400, and HPF500 are readily available from a
number of suppliers.
Cost effective low loss designs
These cost effective HPF cables have been designed to provide low loss and to meet the needs of
the wireless communications market. The graph
below defines attenuation levels for the HPF and
HPP cables referenced on the next page.
