Jamesway Alley Cat Scrapers are a reliable and cost effective system for keeping your
freestall barn clean. A clean barn helps reduce cow stress and can result in better
health for your cows. Alley Cat systems will save you time, labor and money, as well
as wear and tear on your tractor, skid loader and building.
Our systems install easily into almost any new or existing freestall set-up, including
barns up to 1,250’ long! Choose between our Alley Cat 260 or 480 drive unit (depending
on the size of your barn) and start enjoying the benefits of a low maintenance, reliable
manure cleaning system.
The Alley Cat’s automatically controlled timing
feature allows you to program cleaning cycles
according to your (and your cows’) schedule.
This dependable, quiet and efficient scraper

ALLEY CATTM 260
The Alley Cat 260 drive unit is ideally suited for
scraping small to medium sized barns.

• #60 roller chain drive and 26” diameter drum
• Choose from 3/8” or 1/2” cable
• 235’ maximum scraped alley length with 3/8” cable and
one blade
• 470’ maximum scraped alley length with 3/8” cable and
two blades per alley

ALLEY CATTM 480
The Alley Cat 480 drive unit is ideally suited for
scraping medium to large sized barns.

• #80 roller chain drive and 48” diameter drum
• Choose from 3/8”, 7/16” or 1/2” cable
• 325’ maximum scraped alley length with 1/2” cable and
one blade
• 650’ maximum scraped alley length with 1/2” cable and

For optimum cleaning, Alley Cat straight blades are also
available with rubber or urethane wiper edges. Rubber
wipers may be used on rubber flooring while urethane wipers
are long-wearing for use on concrete floors. All wiper edges
are easy-to-replace, to keep your blades cleaning like new.
CABLE TIGHTENERS
• Available for alleys from 76” to 176” wide
• Replaceable steel wiper blades tip up during reverse cycle
• Adjustable wings follow alley curb for maximum cleaning

HANDY ACCESS COVER LATCH
AUTOMATIC REVERSING SWITCH
A handy built-in latch holds access shields in
place when servicing is being performed.
A 1” diameter Acme thread lead screw moves
the cable guide back and forth to load cable on
the drum. Hardened steel guide blocks stand
up to wear caused by cable abrasion.

A safety shutoff T-bar (mounted over the cable
drum) automatically lifts if the cable doublewraps on the drum, stopping the motor.
HEAVY DUTY CORNER WHEELS
The Alley Cat Cable Scraper 19” corner wheel is a proven
performer, available with your choice of 2” bearings and
heavy duty seals, or with DuraCore plastic bushings. Both
systems are designed to bottom purge excess grease to help
prevent freezing and manure contamination.

ALLEY CAT CONTROL PANELS:
Alley Cat control panels are available in 230 volt single-phase
or 208/230, 460 or 575 volt three phase models. The control
panels feature a programmable clock which allows a system
to start and stop when desired. The control panels are fuse
protected control circuit and power circuit.
The Alley Cat Control Panel manages the entire Alley
Cat Scraper System and allows you to customize
scraping cycles to your requirements.
• Selector switch allows drive to operate in “Continuous”, “OFF”,
or “Timer Control” modes
• Weather-protected enclosure
• Built-in AC current overload switch helps protect system from
major obstructions
Progressive Current Sensing (PCS) control’s
“NEXT GENERATION” technology give you the
highest possible level of animal protection.
The computerized control constantly monitors the motor load and
stops the system if it detects a problem. The advanced software
is completely self-learning so it continuously adapts to changing
loads and conditions.
Should the PCS control detect an animal in the path of the scraper
blade, it will reverse the system for 45 seconds and then retry.
If the animal will not move during the retry cycle, the system will
stop and the alarm light is turned on.

Cable Choices
Galvanized or stainless steel aircraft cable are available in 3/8”,
7/16” or 1/2” diameters. Galvanized cables are the lowest cost
choice, while stainless steel offers superior wear resistance.
New Jamesway COW-SAFE DURA-CABLE, braided plastic
cable available in 3/8” or 1/2” diameters offer superior wear
resistance and exceptional cow safety. DURA-CABLE has low
stretch and very low elasticity, making it safe and easy to work
with. DURA-CABLE also cannot develop sharp edges and its
light weight makes it gentle on flooring.
