Scientific and research activities of the DCIS’s staff is oriented to the field of analysis and synthesis of control and information systems, from building and analysis of theoretical model sup to solution of practical problems, including implementation. In many fields of work the DCIS has an exclusive position in the Slovak Republic. The priority areas of DCIS’s research are: risk analysis and modelling of safety/security properties of control and transmission systems, safety in the context of a safety-critical infrastructure, safe and ecological transport way and safety in relation to control of industrial processes and intelligent robotic systems. KEY COMPETENCES IN THE AREA OF ROBOTICS AND INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION Design, construction and control of mobile robotic equipment Operation and programming of top industrial robots and manipulators Risk modelling and risk analysis in industry Programming and deployment of network control systems based on top communication and software technologies, artificial intelligence Programming of PLC and safety PLC Formalization and modelling of functional properties of control systems R&D in the area of smart robotic systems in industry REFERENCES KEY PROJECTS VEGA 1/0367/15: Research and development of a new system of autonomous monitoring of robot trajectory The research project solved the problem of implementation of the hybrid Inertial Navigation Sensor (INS) into the control system of a robot. Such a system is able to obtain a precise position of robot’s effector in the space. The application may be used for calibration of robotic workplace, needed to adapt a simulated model of manufacturing equipment to real geometric conditions. The simulation model of manufacturing equipment together with application robot programmes, used with the help of simulation system, represents a faithful image of reality. Errors between reality and simulation appear for various reasons /position of a workpiece, geometric tool accuracy, mutual position of robot axles/. The implemented INS is dedicated to calibration without use of calibration tools. Safety assessment of the section block system VEAH-11 The Contract on research cooperation between SignalBau a.s., Přerov (Czech Republic) and University of Žilina. The project objective: to asses delivered documents for the section block system (SBS) of the VEAH-11 type with defined interfaces to the connected interlocking and signalling systems and to elaborate the safety assessment report for the SBS VEAH-11. ITMS 26220220169 Research centre for the transport telematics systems The strategic project objective: to complete excellent centres of systems and service of intelligent transport as an assumption for society infrastructure development based on use of knowledge technologies, oriented to the problems of road tunnels. 2/2012: Update and extension of product portfolio of the NEXUS system modules Within the Contract on research cooperation between the První Signalní, a.s., Ostrava (Czech Republic) and the University of Žilina the existing HW and SW components were updated and the product portofolio of one of them was extended for new modules related to new assumed system applications.
