Curriculum Task Force – Dr. Kathy Perkins gave a report regarding the decision of the Curriculum Task Force
that has been meeting since Spring 2010, to begin using Sharepoint as the new electronic version that will
replace the current system in use. Faculty were represented and involved in the process to change to the new
system which begins January 2011. Dr. Perkins explained that the Sharepoint forms will move electronically
and will require less in-person meetings.
Notice of Interest forms – Dr. Perkins reminded everyone to fill out the new „notice of interest‟ form which is now
online to be considered for a position on the 2011-12 Curriculum Subcommittee.
2010-2011 Curriculum Committee, Curriculum Committee workflow and the 2011 Curriculum calendar – Dr.
Perkins talked about these handouts that were distributed at the beginning of the meeting. Dr. Lawler has final
approval or disapproval on curriculum proposals. Dr. Perkins pointed out that the workflow starts with the
faculty and then goes on the department chairs and then to the deans for approval. There is an expedited
process for the Fall and Spring semesters. Dr. Perkins pointed out the important dates on the 2011 calendar.
Student Handbook – Joan Barrett explained the reasons to combine the Student Handbook with the 2011-2012
catalog. Both publications contain a lot of the same information but previously with different verbiage. A
combined handbook would also be more economical and save on printing costs. Karla Gregg will need the
information for the Student handbook section quickly to be in time for the printing of the catalog.
