TOUCH PAD - WATER
METER READING DEVICE.
Location of Water Meter Touchpad
If a Fence is going to be installed on your property, and there is public water
service, the Township's outside WATER METER TOUCH PAD must remain
accessible at all times for quarterly meter readings.
• Shrubs, bushes or any other type of plants are not permitted within three feet (3') in
any direction of the outside touch pad. As shown in the diagram, please maintain a
minimum distance of at least (3') feet between shrubbery and buildings for meter
reader accessibility. The touch pad must be a minimum of three feet (3') above
ground level.
• Ideally, meters should be installed on the Front of the house. If the touch pad is
currently located in the rear yard, and a fence is going to enclose this area of the
property, the touch pad must be relocated to an area approved by the Township.
The owner is responsible for installing the touch pad at the new location and to
provide unobstructed access to the water meter touch pad. Wire will be provided
by the Township, but installed by the owner. NOTE: THE TOWNSHIP MUST BE
NOTIFIED WHEN THE TOUCHPAD IS RELOCATED SO THAT THE METERS
CAN BE SEALED. The touch pad must be relocated as soon as possible to avoid
any code violations.
• The water meters are read every March, June, September and December.
•
