Since 1949, Seymour’s mission has been to provide the highest

Edward H. Seymour is recognized as the inventor of aerosol spray paint,
an idea fostered by his wife Bonnie in 1949. Seymour of Sycamore is now one of
the largest independently owned aerosol paint manufacturers in the industry.
In 1949, Mr. Edward H. Seymour met the challenge. The first
can of aerosol spray paint was in production, and consequently
Seymour of Sycamore became recognized as “The Inventor
of Aerosol Spray Paint”. It was quickly recognized in those early
years that expansion would be necessary. As depicted in the
accompanying graphic, purchasing twelve acres of land for
future expansion proved to be a wise decision.

Combined manufacturing, warehousing and office facilities now occupy
approximately 170,000 square feet. This makes Seymour of Sycamore
one of the largest independently owned basic aerosol paint
