“Leesburg’s Colonial Inn offers the ambiance of a
bygone time” ~ AAA World
In colonial days, a traveler stopping at a tavern not only
would receive a good meal and a glass of spirits, but would
likely hear a good story or two while he puffed on his long
clay pipe. In those days, a tavern was more than just a place
to eat and drink, it was an experience. It still is today at The
King’s Court Tavern.
The King’s Court Tavern, at 19 South King Street in
historic Leesburg retains the genteel atmosphere and
ambiance that was enjoyed by our forefathers. The tavern
offers you a special gathering place, where the best food
and drink are served in a comfortable, friendly ale-house
setting with nightly entertainment. Open for lunch, dinner, or
light snacking everyday. Happy Hours are Monday through
Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Yesterday and today accent the Georgetown Café and
Bakery. A blend of colonial history and modern hospitality.
The cafe takes its name from King George II of England
(Leesburg was once known as Georgetown). The menu
items blend early American and contemporary fare.
The Café is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with
menu items to please the most discriminating palate. The
atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The café is informal and
known locally for afternoon Tea Time and delicious freshbaked breads and pastries.
Celebrating 40 Years of offering “The Best of Everything”
At the Old Town Grill in Leesburg, Virginia, diners can
lift their forks and goblets in colonial surroundings, while
eating and drinking a bit of history.
Each dish is faithfully prepared from an 18th Century
recipe. These recipes were gathered by the staff who spent
time researching at The Library of Congress and The
National Archives poring through old letters and diaries.
From the Green Herb Soup, to the Sally Lunn Bread, to the
Roast Prime Rib with Yorkshire Pudding, to the Rum and
Black Walnut Pie, the entire menu reads like an 18th
Century history of cuisine.
The Old Town Grill offers a festive place to dine
year round, but during the holiday season the restaurant
really comes alive. Holiday events include special
traditional dinners on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter,
and Mother’s Day, and dinner and entertainment on
New Year’s Eve.
We are located in the heart of historic Old Town
Leesburg at 15 South King Street, serving lunch and dinner
daily, and a Sunday brunch.
Ambiance of a Bygone Time
In colonial times, Leesburg blossomed by being at the
crossroads of two heavily traveled highways, Alexandria
Turnpike (now Route 7) and the Carolina Trail (now Route
15). Inns and taverns flourished on the narrow streets and
brick sidewalks, serving the weary traveler.
Tucked away among the many store-fronts along
historic South King street in Leesburg is the beautiful
late 1700’s stone framed entrance to the Colonial Inn,
crowned with an arch of antique brick, the same stone
used in our Nation’s Capitol Building. In 1863 this
building was awarded “most Architecturally Significant”
in the state.
The Colonial Inn offers its guests the “Best of
Everything”, just as it was served to George Washington,
Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison in days past.
The Colonial Inn offers a complimentary full breakfast
for up to two guests.
