On February 25, while watching my favorite morning TV news show on WDRB Fox 41, I saw a heartwarming story about a dog healed by “Faith.”
According to Ryan Cummings of WDRB, a dog named Barron was found in eastern Kentucky sitting beside a dead companion. He was rescued by Sheena Maynard with
Dumas Rescue who helped the dog find a new companion. The new companion just happened to be named “Faith.” Andrea
Blair with the Kentucky
Humane Society made the following statement that really caught my attention: “We really feel Faith has healed that hole in
Barron’s heart and Faith is what has given Barron hope and love.”
This heartwarming story caught my attention because we all need a little faith. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews
11:1KJV) So faith is the real foundation of what we hope for, because it is the evidence or proof of what we do not see. We all have a “hole” in our heart that only God can fill. We can try to fill it with all kinds of things, but only God can fill it because we were designed to live in relationship with Him.
We too can be healed or made whole by faith.
When we believe in Jesus and confess that He is
Lord, we are saved by the grace of God through the faith of God. Even the faith we need for salvation comes from God. Read
Ephesians 2:8-9. There is nothing we can do to heal ourselves. There is nothing we can do to fill that
“hole” in our heart. But, if we look to Jesus, His
Spirit will fill us and make whole.
