CBT-‐500

The  Hosa  Audio  Cable  Tester  is  an  easy-‐to-‐use  unit  that  allows  you  to  verify   continuity  of  cables  prior  to  use.  Testing  cables  minimizes  problems  that  may  arise   during  sessions.

Battery  Check

It  is  recommended  that  you  run  a  battery  check  before  testing  cables  to  ensure  the   unit  is  in  working  condition

1.

Turn  the  center  knob  clockwise  until  the  dial  reaches  the  “Battery  Check”   indicator

2.

The  LED  will  illuminate  if  the  battery  has  sufficient  power

How  to  Read  LED  Indicators

Yellow  and  green  LEDs  marked  1-‐8

The  yellow  LEDs  indicate  the  possible  contacts  of  the  connector  plugged  into   the  right  side  of  the  tester

The  green  LEDs  indicate  the  possible  contacts  of  the  connector  plugged  into   the  left  side  of  the  tester

When  a  connection  exists  between  the  contact  selected  and  any  other   contact,  the  corresponding  LEDs  will  illuminate

Red  LED  marked  GND

This  LED  will  illuminate  if  a  connection  between  a  pin  and  the  connector’s   shell  is  detected

Yellow  LED

When  using  the  included  test  leads,  this  LED  will  illuminate,  accompanied  by   sound,  to  indicate  continuity
