Self-Propelled Hoists Well logging hoists are intended for carrying out round-trip operations upon geophysical survey in wildcat, exploration and production wells for oil and gas up to 7000 m deep with the logging cable maximal diameter of up to 36 mm. The self-propelled well logging hoist (SPWLH) is mounted onto mobile platforms of all-terrain vehicles produced by URAL, KAMAZ, MAZ, IVECO and other manufacturers. It has a wider range of operating speeds and a reverse mechanism. One purely mechanical appliance ensures the chassis drive controlled device lowering into the well from its head all the way down at high speed, rather slow stable speeds of device's movement while well logging both upon lowering and hoisting (starting from 40 m/hr), and mode of cable lowering into the well under the effect of its own weight. A double-speed angle-change reverse gear reducer is developed based on imported constituent parts and in-house modules. It is based on planetaries, as a result is considerably lighter than the 2SKTS-4-gear reducer it replaces. Another option for improving the traditional mechanical drive design is the use of new possibilities provided by new transmission modules proposed by mobile platform manufacturers. This is a reversing power take-off case for KamAZ truck chassis which is being prepared for launch and reduction gear already manufactured for this platform. The first of these modules ensures a wide speed range of the cable movement while lowering, and the second one ensures achievement of rather slow well logging speeds, and increased rough-terrain performance due to reducing minimal speeds of chassis movement of the KamAZ car important for well logging hoists. All new developments related to the mechanical drive are designed by our company in such a way that they may be used in both new cars and as an upgrade to traditional mechanical hoists. We can upgrade almost any old-model mechanical hoist, equipping it with improved transmission and an automated control system. This allows us to restore the machine’s resource, while modernizing it to a qualitatively new level.
