Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology Centre SMART is a major research enterprise established by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in partnership with the National Research Foundation of Singapore (NRF). SMART serves as an intellectual hub for international research collaborations, not only between MIT and Singapore, but also involving researchers from the region and beyond. At SMART, we identify and carry out research on critical problems of societal importance. SMART is a magnet attracting and anchoring global research talent, while simultaneously instilling and promoting a culture of translational research and entrepreneurship in Singapore. Research Engineer (Ref: IRG_CENSAM_2015_009) Centre for Environmental Sensing and Modeling Interdisciplinary Research Group Job Description We are looking for a highly motivated Research Engineer to work on the experimentation and the development of software algorithm used in an in-house developed water quality optical sensor for the classification of algae pigments. Successful candidate will be working with Dr. Chee-Loon (Kelvin) Ng and Prof. Harold F. Hemond. Duties Carry out laboratory data collection, modification, verification, and analyse research data Carry out design of experiment for algae classification Develop spectrum separation algorithm for algae classification Assist with administration duties including procurement and inventory maintenance. Requirements Diploma/Degree in applied chemistry/biology, environmental engineering, physical science, or related field.
