Grade I
8.6.14 - Class Assembly – Time is Precious
The students of Grade I C presented a puppet show
on the topic. It was an initiative taken by the
students and teachers that left the audience
mesmerized.
9.6.14 – Educational Trip to Ocean Park
An educational trip to Ocean park was organized
wherein the students saw water animals in their
natural habitat. It was indeed informative and the
students came back with a lot of learning.
Literary Week
8.6.14 - Arabic Calligraphy Competition –
Writing of the Arabic letters in the correct
formation and with neatness were a few requisites
that brought forth the ‘Calligrapher’
10.6.14 – Qirat Recitation Competition - An initiative to conduct an interclass
Qirat Recitation Competition was successfully
completed as students recited the suras from the
Holy Quran with pious thoughts and deeds.
12.6.14 – English Calligraphy Competition –
Students enjoyed writing a set of 4 lines on the
theme of the month. They wrote with precision as
they competed to showcase their handwriting
skills.

Just A Minute (JAM) (Hindi) – Yadi Dharti Pe Pashoo Na Hote –
The Literary Fest for Grade II opened with an activity
in Hindi, the National Language of our Motherland.
The activity was well-connected to the theme of the
month - Animals, Our Friends. The students led
themselves into an imaginary world without animals,
and connected themselves with the real life issues
related with the environment. They expressed the
value of animals as jewels on Earth, and spoke about
the need to protect them. The activity succeeded in its
aim of providing students with an opportunity to
display their speaking skills.

My Buddy – The Animal I’d Like to Pet –
Show and Tell with Puppets
The confident and creative speakers spoke with
love and fondness for Pet Animals. They
expressed their feelings and portrayed a sense of
responsibility towards the animal community. The
enthusiasm and confidence of the speakers is
worth appreciating. Students look forward to more
such activities of free and intellectual expression.

Arabic Recitation Competition
Students learnt to recite poems in Arabic, the
language of our Home away from Home. Trained
at school, the students enthusiastically recited the
poems, with focus on pronunciation, clarity,
expressions, voice modulation and intonation.
Students enjoyed reciting the poems connected to
the theme of the month, Animals, Our Friends.

Educational Trip to Ocean Park
Learning Beyond the Classroom, students
enjoyed the trip to Ocean Park. They saw a
variety of animals in simulated environs. They
learnt about the species found in Dubai and in the
UAE. They were excited to know about the rare
animals and with great curiosity, listened to the
information and facts shared by the tour guide. A
follow up activity was conducted and ‘My
Learning Log’ filled by students to consolidate
knowledge and experience.

English Choral Recitation Competition-Grades I-II
The first ever of its kind at DPS Dubai, students of Grades I and II participated in
the English Choral Recitation Competition. The groups recited their poems in
unison. The synchronization left the audience mesmerized. The performance was a
true example of team-work, co-operation and patience. This milestone event, has
set the trend for years to come. Students took great pride in their performance in
the event, and put in their commitment and effort to make it an ‘awesome’ one!
