30 Years of Reshaping the Landscape
of Palm Beach County
30th Anniversary Employee Picnic
FORESIGHT
As a fourth-generation general contractor in Palm Beach County, I was blessed from the beginning of my career
to have the ability to learn from my father and grandfather and to be able to continue their legacy of quality and
commitment. My first construction job – as Hedrick Brothers Construction – in January 1979, was the kitchen
remodel of a 1950’s-style home in Palm Springs, a house my grandfather built.
Today, as Hedrick Brothers Construction celebrates 30 years in business, we feel a sense of honor and accomplishment
to have been a part of reshaping the landscape of Palm Beach County. As I drive around town and see buildings
we have constructed, aware of every detail, I have great pride because I know they have been built well.
At Hedrick Brothers Construction, our tradition of excellence is built into every project. The highest quality
craftsmanship, experienced project management and utmost integrity are the legacy we have proudly established
over generations. Hedrick Brothers has built a diverse portfolio of some of the finest projects in Palm Beach County,
from grand, palatial estates in Palm Beach and luxury retail boutiques on Worth Avenue, to historic restorations,
educational facilities, houses of worship, financial institutions, professional offices and commercial projects,
including green/sustainable buildings.

When I first learned about sustainable construction, I embraced it because it fit into our
culture and philosophy. I believe everything built today should benefit our lives today
and the world of tomorrow. “Green” construction is the responsible way to build, and
provides lasting value for our clients. This stewardship idea has moved us in the direction
of sustainable construction, beginning in 2005 with our first “green” commercial office
building. Now, with three completed sustainable projects and two “green” schools
underway, we believe this is the smart approach for our children, the environment, and
the future of the construction industry.
Our growth has been organic. This natural development can be attributed to an
investment in our employees, building quality construction, and involvement with
our community. At Hedrick Brothers, we provide an atmosphere where all our
employees can be successful
and perform to their fullest,
while growing a culture of
accountability that produces
excellence. This environment
has allowed us to grow
considerably over the years,
not only in project size and
type, but also in manpower.
We take great pride in the
quality of our work, and
we strive to ensure that our
clients receive the very best.
Recently, a third-party
research firm surveyed our
Dale Hedrick at Pal
m Beach Town Hall
current and former clients.
Overwhelmingly, when asked how they would describe Hedrick Brothers
Construction, the participants perceived us as “delivering a quality product, having
pride in their work, possessing integrity, and looking out for the best interest of the
customer.” These qualities are continually demonstrated through our brand promise
of being Relational, maintaining the highest level of Integrity, delivering Quality
construction and keeping our Commitment as strong at the end of the project as it is
at the beginning. These uncompromising principles have been the foundation of our
business for 30 years.
Our good name is based upon good construction, and our commitment to your
satisfaction remains the foundation of our future. I thank you for allowing Hedrick
Brothers Construction to Bring Your Visions to Reality for 30 years and to continue
to do so for generations to come.

The original “Brother”
of Hedrick Brothers
Construction
In the mid-1980’s, Hedrick Brothers
Construction transformed a Loews movie
theatre at 2901 Okeechobee Boulevard,
West Palm Beach, into what is now Braman
Motorcars. The 30,000 SF project also
included a 10,000 SF Rolls-Royce showroom
that was built as part of the dealership. Today,
HB is completing a 35,500 SF renovation and
addition. The Braman Motorcars renovation
and addition included the service garage,
the parts department and the BMW showroom
and offices.
Bath and Tennis Club
Hedrick Brothers Construction is building
the new Palm Beach Community College
Technical Education Center in Belle Glade.
The new 28,160 SF LEED-registered project
includes classroom areas for construction,
welding, criminal justice, sugar technology
and drafting.
Bringing the Bath and Tennis Club up to “present day
1926” is the best way to summarize Phase I of this complex
three-year restoration and renovation project. During
Phase I’s fast-tracked, five-month schedule, portions
of the 1926 structure were enhanced to meet new code,
and the following projects were delivered on schedule:
PBCC Technical Education Center
Historic Restoration
The historic restoration of the 1916 Palm Beach County Courthouse, including the
demolition and removal of past additions from 1927, 1955 and 1970, began with
a feasibility study in 2001, followed by
construction commencing in 2003, with
completion of the project in December,
2007. Highlights included salvage and
restoration of the 1916 wood flooring, doors
and hardware, re-creation of all courtroom
millwork, locating, restoring and installing
12 limestone columns, each weighing
30,600 pounds, and re-creating the
limestone eagle crest at the west elevation.
1916 Palm Beach County Courthouse
Luxury Residential
• New foundation, second-floor addition
and roof replacement.
• New kitchen and interiors.
• New tennis pro shop and expanded locker room.
• New fountain, loggias, courtyard, walkways
and landscaping.
• New impact-rated windows and doors, maintaining
1926 exterior wood grille work.
• New elevator installation.
• New chiller room and cooling towers, with capacity
for the entire 70,000 SF facility.
• Upgrades to mechanical, electrical, plumbing,
storm drainage, irrigation, fire sprinkler
and fire alarm systems.
Palm Beach Town Hall
Exemplifying the highest standards of
craftsmanship and project management
throughout the construction process, in 2003
Hedrick Brothers Construction completed
the historical restoration of an Italian
Renaissance-style palazzo plus the addition
of 36,000 SF of new construction on a
six-acre estate stretching from the Atlantic
Ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway.
The renovation and restoration of the Palm Beach Town
Hall building is well underway with a complete interior
renovation consisting of a structural retrofit, new
mechanical system and interior modernization. The project
also includes an extensive historic exterior restoration,
including replacement of all windows with impact-rated
wood replicating the originals. The project is comprised
of three phases of work that will allow for the building
to remain occupied during the construction, with the
exception of the Town Council Chambers during the later
phases of work. The exterior restoration will be concurrent
with the interior renovation because of a funding
commitment from the Preservation Foundation of Palm
Beach. Expected completion date is June, 2010.
New Construction
The construction of The Flagler Kenan Pavilion
required replicating to the smallest detail, a turnof-the-century railway station to complement the
authenticity and architectural style of The Henry
Morrison Flagler Museum, Palm Beach. The Pavilion
was built to house railroad magnate Henry Flagler’s
personal Railcar No. 91. The historic railcar was lifted
into the station, set on railroad tracks, placed
in protective housing, and the station was then
constructed around it. The Pavilion features vaulted
ceilings, elaborate lighting fixtures, ornate columns
and spandrels, as well as sophisticated appointments,
including museum-quality air conditioning, a moisture
control system, and a large skylight with a ceramic
frit pattern to minimize UV exposure, all designed
to protect the building’s priceless treasures.
Time Capsule Found at Northboro Elementary
The Flagler Kenan Pavilion
On October 15, 2008, during demolition, a briefcase-sized,
copper box sealed in lead, was found by HB superintendent,
Rusty Boatwright. The time capsule, which had been placed
in the building’s cornerstone by school officials and local
Masons more than 80 years ago, contained historical
newspapers, books and coins from the summer of 1927.
According to a Palm Beach Times story dated August 12,
1927, the original construction contract was for $102,648.
The new $25 million school is a LEED for Schools project,
and is expected to open in 2010.
Retail
More than 25 stores lining Worth Avenue in
Palm Beach, including Van Cleef & Arpels,
Polo Ralph Lauren, Dior and Graff, have
