things haven’t changed, though - we still manufacture all of our own wire, strand, and cable here in the United States. Our modern
facilities now employ more than 90 people while we continue to combine sophisticated technology with hand craftsmanship.

Tooth Proof leader wire lives up to its name and provides maximum
protection against the ferocious jaws of Barracuda, King Mackerel,
Wahoo and other toothy fish. Made from specially controlled Type 304 stainless
steel alloy to be hard, but not brittle, and to deliver the perfect combination of
flexibility and strength. Tooth Proof possesses incomparable abrasion resistance
and tames the toughest toothy fish. AFW’s unique pre-straightening process
eliminates cast, providing a straighter leader wire with improved kink resistance.
Special Camouflaged Brown finish vanishes in deep water. Tournament tested

PROFESSIONAL GRADE
NYLON COATED 7 X 7 STAINLESS STEEL LEADER WIRE
Perhaps the best leader wire available! Surflon Micro Supreme is
miniature 49 strand stainless steel wire that is extremely flexible and
kink resistant. This wire is ideal for many types of sport fishing because it can
be knotted to your bait and line like monofilament, it provides greater flexibility
and less stretch than monofilament, and is generally smaller diameter per pound
test, and therefore, less visible in the water. Surflon Micro Supreme is extra limp
and has virtually no memory or stretch. The wire enhances the action of live
and artificial baits and adds a level of realism never before attainable using wire
or other leader materials such as monofilament and fluorocarbon. This wire
is ideal for presenting life-like bait at any depth and can fool tackle-shy Billfish
while withstanding the violent razor-sharp strikes of King Mackerel and Shark.
Excellent for casting flies and tempting the most discriminating toothy fish to the
surface. No other wire offers more realistic action both above and below the
water. Low elasticity and high sensitivity allow you to set hooks faster and with
more accuracy. Attach using common monofilament knots such as the Albright
Knot, Clinch Knot, Nail Knot, Perfection Loop, Surgeon’s Loop, or Uni-Knot.

- While you do not need wire leader to catch prized
species such as Billfish, Sailfish, Tarpon, or Striped Bass, many anglers use wire to prevent bite-offs from nontargeted toothy fish that often hit their bait. Single strand wire and other brands of multi-strand wire are stiff
and can spook tackle-shy fish such as Billfish and Tarpon. AFW’s miniature nylon coated 7x7 and 1x19 stainless
steel wires behave more like monofilament and provide an increased level of natural bait action along with a more
realistic presentation. These wires can be knotted to your bait & line like mono, combine higher breaking strengths
in smaller diameters, and deliver reduced visibility and maximum bite protection. Diameter for diameter, absolutely
no other multi-strand fishing wires offer more flexibility and strength!

NYLON COATED 1X19 STAINLESS STEEL LEADER WIRE
Surflon Micro Ultra 19 strand is more flexible than our Surflon 1x7
(page 8), but not as flexible as our Surflon Micro Supreme 7x7 (page
6). Surflon Micro Ultra has a smooth nylon coating that adds kink resistance,
provides longer life, and makes the wire easy to knot. You can attach this leader
wire using common monofilament knots such as the Albright Knot, Clinch Knot,
Nail Knot, Perfection Loop, Surgeon’s Loop, Uni-Knot, etc... Low stretch and
high sensitivity allow for fast hook sets and remarkable performance. The
limp, supple qualities make it especially well-suited for fly fishing tippet and
predator leaders where life-like bait presentation is required along with strong
bite protection. Surflon Micro Ultra is an economical alternative to Surflon
Micro Supreme and an excellent leader wire for Barracuda, Billfish, Bluefish, King
Mackerel, Shark, Wahoo, and other game fish.

is our Surfstrand 1x7 stainless steel with a smooth coating of nylon. A
specially selected grade of nylon, tough yet flexible, is used to seal out water,
reduce visibility, and improve the life of the line. Compared to our competitor’s
old style 1x3 construction, Surflon’s 1x7 construction offers higher break
strength and more realistic action. Surflon 1x7 is an effective leader wire for
hard-charging, toothy fish such as Bluefish and Mackerel.

BARE 1X 7 STAINLESS STEEL LEADER WIRE
Surfstrand 1x7 is made of corrosion resistant, spring temper stainless
steel. Compared to our competitor’s old style 1x3 construction,
Surfstrand’s 1x7 construction offers higher break strength and more realistic
action. The wire is specially stranded to deliver superior kink resistance, and
the high strength of stainless makes this an excellent wire for leaders, lures,
and trolling. Camouflaged Brown finish minimizes reflections and disappears
beneath the water. Attach Surfstrand using crimping sleeves and
crimping pliers or tie with a Figure 8 Knot (pg. 22).

Surfstrand Micro Supreme 7x7 feels more like thread than wire and is
more fl exible than our 1x19 variety. This miniature 49 Strand stainless
steel trace wire slips through the water and has virtually no memory or stretch.
Surfstrand Micro Supreme 7x7 is the preferred wire of professional European

Surfstrand Micro Ultra is miniature diameter 1x19 stainless steel leader
wire that is more flexible than 1x7, but not as flexible as 7x7. Surfstrand
Micro Ultra is an economical alternative to Surfstrand Micro Supreme (above).
This 19 Strand wire was originally designed for European Pike and Walleye
(Zander) anglers. The extremely miniature diameters are practically invisible in
the water. Ideal for catching toothy fish such as European Pike where delicate
bait presentation is required.

STAINLESS STEEL TROLLING WIRE
AFW’s Stainless Steel Trolling Wire is soft single strand wire carefully
annealed for maximum flexibility and strength. The line sinks rapidly
allowing the angler to get down deep using shorter lengths of line. It is kink
and abrasion resistant and ideal for both fresh and saltwater trolling. The high
strength of stainless steel results in a small diameter per pound test providing

Sleeves are made of Copper or Brass and are available Nickel plated and Black
oxidized. Double Barrel Sleeves are available in standard thick wall in bare
Copper and Black finishes. Thin Wall Double Barrel Sleeves, available in Black
finish, are excellent for use with big game mono leader material. Sleeves can be
