How is load capacitance determined?

A typical oscillator circuit is shown here, some or all of the components may be within the
micro processor. The micro processor data should indicate the required load capacitance
to specify the crystal if all the components are inclusive.
If external components are required, then effective load capacitance should equal the load
specified for the crystal.

Introduction to ACT Watch Crystals
32.768kHz, the Watch Crystal frequency is one of the most commonly requested frequencies. Used primarily for real time
applications and clocking some micro’s in low power mode. The vast range of applications that require such crystals also
demand a wide variety of specifications and packages. We still service a good number of customers with through hole parts
where cost is the major driver.
Most applications though call for an SMD package and we offer an expanding range of SMD package options. This covers
most popular industry packages from the standard “workhorse” package in 8x3.8x2.5mm to the ultra miniature 3.2x1.6x0.9mm
package. Note:- Need a simple solution?? We also have 32.768kHz oscillators available in our oscillator profile.
